Our final artist to announce for Sunday is @july3000000! July is creating an ongoing installation in the basement of @newfears_gallery for the duration of Soft Edges called ILLUSIONS_bones&keys_Part2.

ILLUSIONS_bones&keys_Part2. is an ongoing performative installation inhabited and activated by small robotic agencies, as well as natural elements such as dripping water. These agents move, collide, and produce noise that feed into a constantly shifting soundscape, within which the audience is invited to linger.

July Weber is a choreographer, sculptor, and curator. July studied sculpture at HBK Braunschweig, the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, and choreography at HZT Berlin and the Theaterschool in Amsterdam. July’s work deals with spaces of interaction involving body, material, and movement, and is situated at the intersection of choreography and visual art. New materialist ideas around the deconstruction of power dynamics within subject-object relations are the driving force in their practice. July has presented work internationally and received various residencies and grants, such as the Berlin Art Prize in 2015, and was invited to Tanzplattform in 2022. July founded NEW FEARS, a gallery for transdisciplinarity in Berlin, which won the prize for best projects-pace in 2023. by @_soft.edges

We are delighted to have @arte.xand showing some wonderful new paintings specifically made for Soft Edges on Sep 13 for @berlinartweek !! Some of these works are also made in collaboration with @foolishhoney - it’s sisterhood of the travelling canvas vibes 👯‍♀️🫂 come see these special creations! 🐉

Creative chimera, experimental garment maker, painter, DJ and installation artist. X& conjures their experiences into beings shaped by their values, perception of the divine, and a reverence for life.

Exploring life’s themes as inherently genre non-conforming, their multi-ethnic, trans-abolitionist, neuro-emergent spirit is influenced by and guided by the inexplicable.

Summoning inspiration from early childhood video games, cherished moments on dance floors, and under the sky of multiple continents, they distill these experiences and ephemeral moments in paint. X&’s visual work acts as a tapestry of metaphors; figurative expression conveys the intangible, illusory portraits of the unseen, and scenes of other timelines.

Sharing with us their expressive voice and sounds at the next Soft Edges will be @omarktd.music 🕯️ - September 13 at @newfears_gallery !!

Omar KTD is a Berlin-based Syrian singer, songwriter, and producer working within Arabic avant-pop, queer pop and alternative pop. The music blends electronic textures, lamentation-inspired vocals, and soft glitch aesthetics to create an emotionally direct sound infused with Arabic queer sensibility.
Rooted in experimental pop traditions, the work brings a distinct queer visual and sonic language to the emerging landscape of new Arabic pop, challenging dominant narratives of masculinity while celebrating fluid identities. The lyrics explore queerness, the body, resistance, and migration, transforming personal and collective experiences into raw yet tender sonic expressions.
