If you hate click tracks, it's almost certainly because you NEED a click track.

Master the metronome until it becomes your best friend.

Only once you have come to love the click so much that you miss it when it's gone, have you earned the license to turn it off.

If you're not there just yet, work on it! And until then, embrace editing so that you can make records that actually move people.

Is your bass sounding weak and undefined on small systems, but excessivley boomy on big ones?
