Asides from talking, talking and more talking 😂, we’d also need to share some items with the students we’ll be reaching out to. 🥹

We’ve put together some essential sanitary and personal care items to support the students during the outreach, and we’d love your help!

You can support in cash or in kind, every contribution will go a long way.

Please send me a DM if you’d love to be a part of this.

And if you come across this post, please reshare. 🥹🥹

Location: Abuja!

For a while now, I’ve been talking about menstrual health, period stigma, and the importance of creating a world where menstruation is understood rather than shamed.

And if you’ve been following my posts, I mentioned that one of the ways we can break period stigma is by educating and creating awareness.

So, I’ve decided to take this a step further, in my own little way…..

I’m so excited (and a little anxious 🫣) to officially announce PeriodAware, a menstrual health education outreach for secondary school students, both girls AND boys….

This is so personal to me. 🥹

This is more than just an outreach. It’s a step towards creating a space where menstruation is understood and met with empathy, not shame.

Because Periods are normal. Stigma is not.

Lately, I’ve become extremely conscious of the fact that I have to make a great impact. I have to be successful, not just for myself, but for the people coming behind me.

I want to become someone young girls can look at and believe in themselves. I want them to see my life and realise that their backgrounds do not define their limits, that where they come from does not determine how far they can go, and that they, too, can become everything they dream of being.

I want my life to be proof that it is possible. That you can start small, figure things out along the way, and still become someone who makes a difference.

I want to be a reminder to the girls who are still trying to find themselves, who have big dreams but sometimes wonder if they can actually achieve them, that they can. That they are capable. That their dreams are valid.

I want my success to mean something beyond me. I want it to make room for others, inspire hope, and remind the next girl that she, too, can. taken in Abuja, Nigeria by @_sophy.ee

I saw this audio on someone’s IG post and immediately fell in love with the song. I woke up this morning with it on my lips, and somehow, it felt like exactly what I needed in this moment.

I had looked forward to today so much. I had planned, prepared, and put so much into my outreach, only for it to be postponed because of the ongoing strike in government schools. I won’t lie, it feels really sad and heartbreaking.

But somehow, this song reminds me that sometimes, what feels like God not coming through for us is simply Him not doing things the way we expected.

And perhaps that’s the reminder I need right now.
Maybe I was so focused on how I wanted today to go that I forgot to leave room for God to do things His own way.

Today didn’t go as I planned, and it’s okay to admit that it hurts. I can be disappointed and still trust God. I can be heartbroken about the postponement and still believe in the vision He placed in my heart.

The outreach has been postponed, but the vision hasn’t changed. The date has changed, but the purpose remains.
And if there’s one thing I’m learning, it’s that trusting God also means trusting Him when things don’t happen the way I imagined.

He knows what I need, even when I don’t understand what He’s doing.
So, for now, I’ll let myself feel the disappointment, hold on to the vision, and trust Him with the rest. taken in Abuja, Nigeria by @_sophy.ee

Due to the ongoing strike in government schools, the outreach has been postponed, as our school of choice is also currently affected by the strike.

While this wasn’t what I had hoped for, I’m choosing to trust the process and believe that everything works together for good. Everything happens for a reason.

I truly appreciate everyone who has supported, encouraged, contributed, and looked forward to this with me. Your support means so much to me.

I’ll keep you all updated once we have a new date.
This is only a postponement, not a cancellation.

I was having a conversation with someone I recently met and he saw my outreach flier as my DP on WhatsApp and asked how long I’ve been in Abuja

For those who don’t know, I’m planning a menstrual health education outreach focused on breaking the stigma surrounding periods, happening on the 9th of October.

I told him how long I’ve been in Abuja, then asked why he was asking. In his words, “Wow, it’s quite soon to be doing something this great.” 😂😂 (Oh well… I can’t help it, I’m a city taker! 😌)

Tbh, that’s exactly how I felt when God first laid this assignment on my heart. Imagine being new to a city, not even properly settled yet, and still dealing with NYSC and PPA wahala… I honestly felt like it was too soon.

But when God gives you an assignment, you don’t always get to see the full picture. Sometimes, you just have to trust Him and move, and that’s exactly what I’m doing.
So, therefore… OCTOBER, BY MY GOD!!! 😭🥹
It’s one week to the outreach and hmmmmmmm is all I can say 😅🥹🥹🥹

Anyways, Happy New Month Lovelies…❤️

What the Bible says about writing down the vision… 🥹

I wrote this down on the 14th of August, on a night I couldn’t sleep. The idea was so strong on my heart, and it felt like the moment I woke up the next morning, I was going to carry it out.

I wrote down the date and everything I intended to do, even without having a single resource, knowing the school, or even having anything figured out. I just wrote everything down, including the date, and hoped it would be the same date the school would eventually give me.

And now, here we are. 🥹
Doing it scared. Doing it clueless. Doing it as a beginner. But doing it anyway.
Sometimes, you don’t need to have everything figured out before you take the first step. You just need to write the vision, trust God, and move.

Why are we made to feel ashamed of something that is completely normal?
Why should we whisper when talking about menstruation?
Why should a girl feel embarrassed because she is on her period?

Menstruation is not dirty. It is not shameful. And it is certainly not something we should have to hide.
On October 9th, 2026, we’ll be having a menstrual health education outreach at Junior Secondary School, Kuchingoro, Abuja.

The aim is simple: to break the stigma surrounding periods, educate the students about menstruation and menstrual hygiene, and help create an environment where periods can be talked about without shame or embarrassment.

Because periods are normal. Stigma is not!
