it’s a different kind of heartbreak that nobody prepares you for: leaving a place that became your home.

A place where you found genuine friendships, little routines, favorite places, and, somehow, yourself.

Before coming to Valencia, I had so many expectations. But reality turned out to be even more beautiful than I could have imagined.

The girl who boarded that flight on January 25th isn’t the same girl who got on the plane back home on June 30th. Not because she became someone else, but because somewhere between those two flights, she finally felt more like herself than ever before.

And maybe that’s why saying goodbye hurts so much.

Because the flight back home somehow felt more like leaving home.
