This Mother’s Day is a big one. Last year, my mom was diagnosed with Stage Three Breast Cancer, and it completely rocked our family. “Marsha with the Big Hair” had to rediscover herself in ways we were unprepared for.

I’ve always known my mom was strong, but watching her move through this past year with grace, humor, resilience, and so much courage has left me in awe. She faced every appointment, every setback, and every unknown head-on — and somehow still found ways to take care of everyone around her.

Now, she’s cancer free, healing, and looking as beautiful as ever. There truly is nobody like her. Happy Mother’s Day to my superhero. I love you, Mommy 💘 by @_spenserthompson

After two months of sitting on the couch and staying inside, I’m finally able to get outside and move my body again…

15 years of wear and tear on my knees from life as a runner finally caught up to me at the beginning of this year. After deciding to train for the Brooklyn Half Marathon, I got the unfortunate news from my doctor that I would have to undergo an MPFL knee reconstruction surgery. The recovery process for this has been extremely difficult and definitely one of the hardest experiences I’ve ever had to go through. But, after two months of physical therapy and lots of love and support from friends and family, I am finally back on my feet and starting to feel like myself again. There’s still more work to do but excited to see the end of the road 🦋🤍
