17th place - 12:19:08 - 50 miles (80km)

2500 meters of elevation

Going into this race, I was having serious imposter syndrome. I was telling myself that I don’t belong, questioning what I’ve done to deserve being there. Surrounded by people with more experience than me, people who have ran this race and other ultramarathons multiple times. Once again, I asked myself, “why do I deserve to be here?”

That day, I went out with zero expectations and proved to myself that not only did I deserve to be there, but that I was competing with people who had more experience than me.

Self doubt is something that I’ve always dealt with since I was a child, lacking any and all confidence to try new things and put myself in difficult situations. Running has taught me that it doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from you can do anything with enough hard work and dedication.

Running has changed my life forever, and I will always be grateful for everything it has done for me.
