The Konark Sun Temple was built in the 13th century during the reign of the Eastern Ganga King Narasingha Deva I, crafted in stone in the form of a giant, ornamented chariot dedicated to the Sun God, Surya.

Every carving in this temple has a story to tell - from nomads to citizens, peasants to royalty, animals to royal dancers, from life to death, and everything in between. It took nearly 12 years to complete this magnificent temple.

And yet, standing here, one question kept crawling into my mind..
How did we go from being a civilization capable of such extraordinary craftsmanship and development to a country where our streets are covered in garbage and civic sense is so often forgotten? How did a nation that once celebrated such remarkable art reach a point where art and heritage are so easily overlooked? Since when did we stop treating our nation as our own?

Blaming others and moving on is easy. But perhaps it is time that each one of us takes responsibility and tries to make a difference.

Because this is our heritage. This is our country. And at least some of us have to start working towards making this beautiful place a better one to live in.🇮🇳 by @_sree.n_
