Huge congratulations to Shelley Lowry Talent clients Steven Cooke, Kasper Andreasen, James Doran, Bernadette Brown, Rosie Barry, Brian Devlin, Micky Bartlett and Brian Markey who join the cast of the feature film Bender, a coming-of-age comedy set in late 1970s Dublin, directed by Adam Bernstein and starring Bill Burr and Chris O’Dowd.

Bender is being compared as a mix between Superbad and Derry Girls in the casting update from Deadline, and is based on the post-punk Dublin experiences of Adrian Cunningham, who also penned the script. The story also includes events leading up to a visit by Pope John Paul II, which took place in 1979. @_stevencooke @micky_bartlett @devlin1249 @weebarry1 @bernadettebrownactor @kandreasen2404 #actor @chrisodowd #northernireland #casting #belfast by @_stevencooke

Great attending @raindancefilmfestival London 2026 34th Edition with the premiere of @agirlcalledalicefilm at Piccadilly @vue directed by @tristan.loraine produced by @factnotfictionfilms in collaboration with @ee @crimestopperstrust @canonuk tackling issues of mobile phone theft in London through this action packed 12 minutes short.

Shorts films allow a space for learning and experimentation, as an actor, that is what I most enjoy about them. This character is more erratic that I’ve previously played on screen so trying to play with the scale of that was the challenge, but honestly one of the more fun character I’ve explored to date. Some great scenes with @teganmuggeridge @wayne_edge and @antonioaakeel .

A very close nit set, thank you to the cast and crew. I truly enjoyed the premiere and 5 days at the festival.

Looking forward to what this film has to offer as it begins its festival run.

A special shout out to @ameliakdprice who flew over to the premiere on a 24 hour visit with 3 hours sleep either side. ❤️

And my cousin @graced_9 for putting a roof over my head ☘️ by @_stevencooke

Thank you Finn. What a true friend you’ve been, I appreciate every way you’ve been there. I’ll miss your energy and the comfort of your bear hugs.

You fought with courage and bravery all while keeping a smile on your face and looking after others, making sure they were all good.

I’m so proud to have been your mate, it’s why I’m posting this and although we had to say goodbye, I’m glad we got the chance to over the past few weeks. With pints, craic, surrounded by your loved ones, who showed nothing but bravery, kindness and hospitality. My thoughts are with Louise, Saoirse, Luke and all the amazing family and friends that surrounded Finn. Words aren’t enough.

Seeing you become a father to Saoirse, walk Louise down the aisle, buy a house and prove how talented you were as an actor has been a joy to witness. You’ll continue to be one of my role models in life, because what life you provided. You had the ability to light up a room and bring people together, you’d always be looking for who was being left out and get them involved.

I’ve also had the honour of performing with you on stage and on screen. I’m so happy it was you. A man of the people and a talent that would have continued to blossom, you were so proud of your work and had every right to be because you were incredible.

Thank you for all the craic, all the kindness, all the pints and all the faigs we shared, I’ll never forget your words and actions.

I love you, I’ll miss you and thank you for the endless supply of voice notes to keep me laughing. I could keep going but for now…

Sláinte. What a dent you made.

I’ll see you man x by @_stevencooke
