Today I did my first ever all-over colour🖤✨

My client @lillymorgan__ already had black hair, but wasn’t too happy with the red undertones. We wanted to create a cooler, blue-black finish — and that’s exactly what we achieved! 🖤

I did struggle abit, a few broken nails, a couple meltdowns and rage quits but not to bad for my first proper attempt- room for improvement✌🏽

Today, as part of my apprenticeship training, I worked on a series of strand tests using 4 brunette and 3 blonde strands.

I experimented with different colour and lightening products to create a range of tones and results, including:
• Highlifts
• Fashion Lights
• BLONDME Bleach
• VARIO BLOND Bleach

This allowed me to explore how different products can be used to achieve different tones, levels and overall finishes.

On this strand, I used IGORA ROYAL HIGHLIFTS with a 12% developer. The result was a subtle amount of lift, creating a slightly lighter finish while maintaining the overall tone. 🤎

On this strand, I used IGORA ROYAL FASHION LIGHTS in L-89 with a 12% developer. My aim was to create a deep red-violet tone, and I was really happy with how close the final result was to my target shade. ❤️‍🔥

On this strand, I used BLONDME 9+ Lightener with BLONDME 6% developer. I also experimented by adding a violet additive to see how it would affect the final result.

I found that the violet additive helped to neutralise some of the warmer tones while the lightener lifted the hair, creating a lighter, more toned finish. I was really happy with the result of this experiment! 💜✨

On this strand, I used VARIO BLOND Lightening Powder with IGORA ROYAL 6% developer. This was my first time using VARIO BLOND, so it was a great opportunity to experiment with a product I haven’t worked with before.

Compared to BLONDME, VARIO BLOND is a gentler lightening option and can provide up to 8 levels of lift. It was interesting to see how the product performed and compare the results with the other lighteners I used. I was really pleased with the final result! 🤎✨

These were the results of each strand when wet!💦✨

And these were the results of them when dry compared to the original strand! (My favourite is the red-violet one!)✨💜

Next we moved onto the blonde strands!

This was me preparing the copper strand! 🧡

Our educator, @_.vintage_vikki._ gave us a reference image for each strand, and we had to analyse the desired result and mix the colours we thought were needed to achieve the look.
