A CHRISTMAS STORY, TOLD THROUGH THE DETAILS… ✨

Last Christmas, we transformed a private dining room in @kutirchelsea into a dramatic festive setting, taking our inspiration from the restaurant itself — its flavours, ingredients, colours and atmosphere.

We wanted every detail to feel part of the same story.
Red cabbages became sculptural Christmas trees. Chilli peppers draping from the chandelier to bring height and overhead drama while fruit and vegetables spilled through the tablescape. Red onions were hand-painted and turned into Christmas baubles, while bespoke hand painted artwork carried the story through the menus and place settings.

For us, it’s those extra layers that make a space feel truly considered — when the idea doesn’t stop at the big gestures, but continues right through to the smallest finishing touch.

And, apparently, we started as we meant to go on… always dressing like the scene we set. ❤️
Because the magic for us is in creating a whole world — one idea, carried through every last detail.

THIS IS THE POST THAT STARTED IT ALL… ✨

A year ago, we put this carousel together on our individual pages and announced that we were joining forces for Christmas.

The plan was simple: we both loved creating, styling and making things, we loved Christmas, and thought it would be fun to take on a few projects together.

The post went viral but little did we know that one year later we’d have actually launched Styled Story as a business, built a website, worked with some brilliant clients, and be in the middle of creating Christmas installs across five @the_cosyclub restaurants.

Still slightly mad to type.

So it felt only right to bring this post back to where it belongs — on the Styled Story page — because this really was the beginning of it all.

And even though we’re mega busy, we still have a small window for a few more Christmas projects this year — parties, events, styling, installs, or something completely bespoke.

Where have we been? Turns out when you’re actually doing the work, you sometimes forget to post about the work… 👀

We’ve been VERY quiet on here, but very much not quiet behind the scenes. We spent most of the summer with our heads down working, and right now we’re deep in our biggest projects yet for Halloween and Christmas and they are pretty MEGA.

And honestly, we’re loving every minute of it. We’ve been incredibly lucky to be given so much creative freedom with these projects. Not only have we been trusted to develop strong concepts and stories for these clients, we are then engineering it all too, the problem solving, logistics, sourcing, making and finally the installs, we tend to dream big and our favourite bit is working out how we make the magic happen.

Just six months after launching our website, we still can’t quite believe how busy Styled Story has already become and we are really honoured to be entrusted by some incredible brands to create installs for such special occasions - and the best bit is that we get to do all of this together.

So, a little reminder of the faces behind it all 👋 this is us , Nicki on the left, Carol on the right and yes we are always in matching outfits!

The thing I love about painting murals is they are all completely unique and different to the last one. This one was an absolute joy to create. When we first did a site visit back in May and we saw this wall we knew it needed a mural to greet you and tell the story of the space you are entering.

This mural embodies the whole concept of @ora_pilates_studio , and has all the colours of all the energies and auras you feel. It moves, flows, changes, softens, deepens and hopefully above all makes you feel something unique to you 🌈 ✨

Every mural should tell a story.

When @ora_pilates_studio came to us with their vision, we immediately felt a mural could express each what they wanted to say…here’s just a sneak peek of what Carol has been up to on site in Ireland this week.

An aura is the unique vibe or energy someone emits, giving off an intuitive sense of personality or mood. That simple idea became the inspiration behind this mural. Every colour has a purpose, representing different feelings and energies that each match a different style of movement and class offered at Øra (pronounced Aura)

The voiceover is by Øra founder, Ash , sharing the story and inspiration behind the studio.

Oh June! You were action packed and full of so much styling delights- a mediterranean gelato Pop Up with @badiani1932 for the @theyardscoventgarden, a summer solstice tablescaping for the most delicious event by @thetableat_ and a site visit to @ora_pilates_studio to make some big decisions

We’re busy now working on some upcoming projects for later in the year, so it looks like July is gonna be a busy one too just how we like it!

Behind the scenes of our Summer Solstice dinner for @thetableat_ … ☀️🌾

This week we transformed a corporate boardroom into a dreamy golden meadow for an evening celebrating connection, conversation and inspiring female founders.

Inspired by the Summer Solstice, our concept drew on wild meadows, wispy grasses, golden flowers, ancient stone circles and the warm haze of a midsummer evening. Running the full seven metres of the table, the grasses rose gently towards the centre, where a burst of golden flowers represented the sun at its highest point before softening away again towards either end.

With just over an hour to install, everything was carefully planned and pre-made in advance. From the initial concept and sourcing through to styling the flowers, curating the tableware, designing bespoke menus, Summer Solstice oracle cards for guidance and to spark conversation and little keepsake fans. Every detail was designed to tell the story of the longest day of the year.

One of our favourite moments was watching everyone arrive and seeing their faces as they stepped into the room for the first time.

Then, once the styling was finished, we got to join everyone for dinner – sharing stories with a room full of incredible women and enjoying the evening we’d spent the day creating. A pretty special way to celebrate the Summer Solstice. ✨

It’s the last day of our Mediterranean Gelato pop up with @badiani1932 at the @theyardscoventgarden

It’s been a dream to create, we really love to add as many bespoke elements to our work as we can, making any installation truly unique to us and the story we are telling.

The FREE gelato was gone by 4ish yesterday so pop down early if you plan on coming down. The Mediterranean inspired flavours are as delicious as our Mediterranean inspired scene looks

Lastly, thanks to @weare_sighthound for the tasty brief.
