This my permanent installation for the music school of Bad Pyrmont (a town in Germany). It is a ceiling painting with a 7-minute sound installation titled ‘Ohrenhimmel’. I worked with the students of the school and the music director, Arndt J. Mehring, to create an avant-garde music piece, improved from drawn scores of things the students heard that we then recorded. The amorphous painting is compromised of all of the participating students ears. It is above a staircase, so viewers, walking up the stairs experience the shapes change and move as their perspective shifts and they get closer. It almost has the effect of spiraling up into the ears.
