It’s wild how much can change in just a few years.

Swipe for some throwbacks.❤️

We brought Coach PJ as a Coach during COVID when OAC was still practically a brand-new business. Amelia was just a baby, and we were all figuring things out one day at a time.

Together, we watched our boxing and Muay Thai programs grow, built an incredible community, and shared a lot of milestones along the way.

Life has a funny way of opening new doors. The Ross family received orders to the East Coast, where they now own and operate @coasttocoastathleticclub . While we’re sad they’re no longer here, it’s been amazing to watch them build something of their own and continue impacting their community.

Their visit was wayyy too short, but getting to have Coach PJ step right back in and teach a class felt like she never left.

Watching your friends build something meaningful of their own is one of the best parts of this journey. OAC wouldn’t be the same without the role they played in its story, and we can’t wait to watch the next chapter unfold. 📈

Let’s talk about Sarena.

Toddler mom. Wife. Respiratory therapist.

Sarena started training with me at the end of November, completed our January Challenge, and just earned the top spot in our most recent 6-Week Challenge.🥇

I’ve seen her work ethic shine through since day one. She’s incredibly coachable, dialed in on form, and works her ass off in the gym, chasing failure every set. Before this challenge started, she told me she was going to lock in.

...And that’s exactly what she did.🔒

This round, we moved away from macro tracking and shifted to a portion-controlled meal structure built around whole, minimally processed foods. The goal was to reduce decision fatigue and simplify nutrition so consistency became easier with her busy schedule.

She embraced it completely.

As a respiratory therapist, her schedule is very demanding, but she committed to training 5 days per week, hitting her step goals, staying on top of nutrition, and making tome to get workouts done on her own even when she couldn’t make it to class. She asked questions, communicated often, and stayed consistent—even while celebrating a birthday vacation. She tracked everything, didn’t miss a check-in, and was quick to pivot when needed.

Notable challenge results:
• +0.9 lbs skeletal muscle
• -4.9% body fat
• Plank: 3:37 → 6:01
• 53 Strict hand release push ups in 2 min
• Band Assisted Pull-Ups Wk1 → 13 Unassisted Pull-Ups
• 340 lb Trap Bar Deadlift
• 125 lb Bench Press

Zooming out, Sarena is now down 30 pounds since starting her journey.

The physical results are impressive, but what stands out most is the consistency, discipline, and confidence she’s built along the way. I mean, just look at this woman’s sparkle ✨

It’s been a privilege to be part of her journey and watch her grow stronger every step of the way.

Congratulations, Sarena. This one was earned.🏆💪👏👏

🏆 6-WEEK CHALLENGE RESULTS 🏆

6 weeks ago, this started as a challenge.

What it became was something bigger:
Showing up when motivation wasn’t there.
Training through busy schedules.
Habits changing. Confidence building.
A real shift in discipline, not just showing up for workouts.

Our winner and runner up weren’t selected at random. We used a point system built around consistency, effort, overall transformation, and nutrition habits.

Learning how to fuel performance, support goals, and build better daily nutrition was a huge part of the process.

And honestly… even with the point system, this was NOT an easy decision.

Multiple people completely changed their bodies, mindset, and routines. The level of effort made this one of the hardest challenges to judge.

Before anything else:
To every single person who showed up and put in work—completing this challenge alone is a WIN. 🏆 👏

Let’s keep building!🧱 taken in Oceanside Athletic Club by @_tabitha_newton_

Fight night through the lens. 📸🥊

Kevin moves to 5–0. Mateo moves to 2–0.

Both fighters showed what consistency looks like under pressure - months of work and discipline leading to moments like this.

Big congratulations to Mateo as he heads off to join the Air Force. Honored to have been part of his journey. taken in Oceanside, California by @_tabitha_newton_

For the past year, Cheryl and I met every Tuesday and Thursday like clockwork.

Cheryl was sweet, funny, sassy, sharp as a tack — and one of the toughest women I’ve ever known.

She fought Parkinson’s with everything she had, which made every session with her such a pleasure. When I started working with her, it ignited a passion in me for programming — I loved finding new creative ways to “torture” her, as she would say. And I know she loved it too; she’d always ask what I had in store for her. The next day I’d usually get a text that said something like “kill Tabitha,” and then she’d show up to the next session eager and ready to go.

She still shows up in my coaching in ways I didn’t expect — just this morning, working with a young athlete beginning to learn their strength, I couldn’t help but mention my 76-year-old client rowing 20lb dumbbells like it’s nothing… and I probably always will.

Recently, she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. The diagnosis seemed to come out of nowhere, and she wasn’t given much time. She faced it head on, kept showing up and fighting even when she had every excuse to give up, living her final days with the same strength, grit, and sass.

We took this photo at our last session just two weeks ago. While I have tons of photos and videos of her training, this is the only photo I have of us. I’m so grateful we took it.🤍

RIP Cheryl. You are so deeply missed. 🕊️ by @_tabitha_newton_

LADIES: Here’s why strength training is one of the best things you can do for your body and mind:

🦴Stronger Bones - Resistance training increases bone density and significantly reduces osteoporosis risk—critical for women.

🔥Faster Metabolism - More muscle = more calories burned at rest. Lifting helps combat the metabolic slowdown that comes with age.

❤️Heart Health - Regular strength training reduces cardiovascular disease mortality risk by up to 30%.

😁Better Mood & Confidence - Lifting reduces anxiety and depression symptoms and builds body confidence that carries into every part of life.

You don’t need a reason—but now you have four!

Come train with me at OAC, Mon/Wed/Fri @ 9:00am. Your strongest self is waiting!

Excuses don’t get results. Action does.

Even when it’s inconvenient. Even when it’s not perfect.

Today at our 6-Week Challenge kickoff, we talked about what actually drives results:
👉 Consistency.

Not just in the gym—but in everything:
Sleep. Nutrition. Training. Recovery.

Show up for the small things, over and over again… that’s where the change happens.

Challenge starts Monday 5/4- and we’re already getting after it 🔥 taken in Oceanside Athletic Club by @_tabitha_newton_
