@oneumbrellasportsandent JPL TEAM OF ROUND 1

One Umbrella Sports & Entertainment has selected its JPL Team of Round 1 following several outstanding opening performances.

Tru-Juice goalkeeper Carlye Holmes anchors the team after helping his club secure a historic 4–0 debut victory over Mount Pleasant. The defence includes Cavalier’s Christopher Ainsworth, Tivoli Gardens pair Omuzo and Simpson, and Tru-Juice right back Wedderburn.

Dwight Merrick, Lucas Lima Correa and Ajuma Johnson form the midfield. Merrick scored an excellent late volley in Montego Bay United’s 2–0 win over Chapelton, while Johnson found the net in Tivoli’s 3–0 victory over Humble Lion.

The attack features Mullings, Tajay Grant and Daniel “Messi” Roberts. Grant scored twice for Racing United, while Roberts produced a brilliant brace, including the first JPL goal in Tru-Juice’s history.

Congratulations to Holmes, Ainsworth, Omuzo, Simpson, Wedderburn, Merrick, Lima, Johnson, Mullings, Grant and Roberts.

Special respect goes to every player in the JPL. Selection is recognition, not rejection. Every starter, substitute and squad member contributes to the strength and future of Jamaican football. Round 1 is only the beginning, and every player will have another opportunity to make an impact.
