Who am I?👨🏻‍🍳 Fraser Hobday, the private chef behind Hobs in your Home. Based locally within Aberdeenshire, I am an experienced, award winning chef, the current North-East Chef of the Year, taking the title at the first attempt in May 2025. My Experience💪🏼 I have a large range of experience within the catering industry so far. Starting my journey as a commis chef working within contract catering, I then felt it was important for me to diversify and spend some time working at an authentic bakery, honing in on skills that stand as a staple for any work required as a skilled professional chef. Stepping back behind the stove, it was most important to be spending my time working with other skilled and respected individuals within Aberdeenshire and drawing on all their experience and knowledge while picking up the know how to start and run a viable business. Travelling through an array of experiences; helping to start small businesses within Aberdeen, large scale functions, private dinners and weddings for Harry Fraser Catering all the way to most recently, working my way from a Chef de Partie all the way to Head Chef for Entier while providing a high standard of catering within the production side of the industry, alongside other award winning chefs. Where else might you find me?🐴 Currently, I am the Head Chef within the Bogenraith Equestrian Centre, a unique countryside venue. Boasting breathtaking views across Aberdeenshire’s highest peaks. My role here is varied, from revamping the menu, afternoon teas and seasonal Sunday roasts, to delivering everything from our relaxed day to day café, to hearty post competition dining for horse riders. Alongside this I oversee catering for our show jumping and dressage events, bring outdoor dining to life through our Horse Box Grill, and cater for occasions hosted in our ‘Jump Shed’ function room. No two days are the same and it’s this variety, creativity and passion for allowing for memorable food experiences that I love most about what I do. My Objective🫡 I believe every chef should want to work with the freshest and highest quality of ingredients possible. Tell it how it should be, local producers, local stories.
