I was privileged to teach a wonderful group of sketchers last week in Andalucia. We spent seven beautiful days capturing the scenes of this wonderful region. Thank you to Louisa @_thecreativetrail for the amazing organisation and corralling. Thank you also to the amazing enthusiasm and passion of the attendees, hope to see you all soon! @antony_watercolour @nickybandlily @angiegoodman.painter.writer @cathpawlow

Sketching our way through Córdoba 🎨 with @shoreditchsketcher

We enjoyed one of Córdoba’s elegant plazas, taking time to slow down, look closely and capture the character and architecture of this beautiful city.

A few more moments from our Andalucía Art Holiday, exploring through drawing and painting.

Drawing one of Córdoba’s most extraordinary landmarks ✍️🎨 The magnificent Mezquita-Catedral, with its endless arches, layers of history and incredible details, gave us so much inspiration on our Andalucía Art Holiday. 🇪🇸✨

Arriving in Córdoba ✨ A city of extraordinary history, where Roman, Islamic, Jewish and Christian stories sit side by side, with four UNESCO World Heritage recognitions and beauty around every corner. And then there’s the food… Córdoba has such a wonderful food scene too. So much to explore, draw, paint and taste over the next few days. 🎨🍷

An afternoon drawing and painting in beautiful Mijas 🎨☀️

Whitewashed streets, blue flowerpots, flashes of colour and those wonderful Andalusian views… so much inspiration around every corner. A lovely afternoon slowing down, looking closely and capturing a little of Mijas on paper. 💙

Early morning in Mijas ✨

Quiet streets, soft golden light and a beautiful morning spent drawing and painting before the village fully woke up. There’s something rather magical about experiencing a place this way. Slowing down, looking closely and capturing those little details that might otherwise pass you by. 🎨☀️

It's so amazing to be here in Andalucia again. What a treat to be able to head out with a sketchbook in hand with an amazing group of people.

Out sketching with @shoreditchsketcher into the wonderful Malaga old town followed by some delicious dinner at malaga institution El Pimpi

What a wonderful start to a incredible eight days of drawing, exploring and soaking up Andalucia.

Every wondered how many different materials an artist uses to create a multi layered painting?
Here’s a little snippet (filmed with my left hand!) of me working on one of my recent pieces.
If you’d like to experience being creative in Rajasthan first hand then join me with the @_thecreativetrail on our tour next February.
Some of the materials used in this video include my favourite new tool, a soluble graphite pencil, ink, dry brushes, posca pens and wet sponges.
This painting will be available on my website soon.
