[Long winded post incoming]

After a year and a half of chaos, the Zaku is finally complete!
It was well worth it I think, because I had sooooo much fun at @indypopcon and even won Judge's Choice at the cosplay contest! 😱

And-- despite the length of time it took and multiple life events interfering, my crazy fever dream of a costume concept came to fruition. I am eternally grateful to @chrismanthegreat for helping me with so much of the process and being my biggest supporter. From turning my ideas and sketches into tangible objects, to proof reading my process documents, to being my handler and dealing with all the annoying nuances involved in wearing an impractical costume. He deserves so much credit!! 🥺❤️

(I think for now I will take it easy on making new cosplays for a little while so I can focus on getting to a regular cadence in life again. Plus, I need to just wear my other costumes more~)

I love Gen Con so much; I especially feel like myself there.

This year's activities included a burlesque show, playing a few one shots, eating yummy food, competing in speed painting, a D&D carnival, cleaning up Cardhalla, learning metalworking, and getting to spend quality time with friends (and did some networking!)

I did a lot of fun things this weekend in Chicago!

Some of the highlights included afternoon tea at the Langham, visiting Pop Mart (they had The Cure playing most of the time I was there 😆), multiple museums, and lots of good food! Honestly just walking around when the weather was nice was very pleasant.

Maybe it's a sign of maturation when you think, "Walking around another city was a refreshing change of pace" 🤣

Cosplayed #frieren for @animecrossroads this weekend!

I always feel a little worried when I wear her because I feel like I don't capture her essence that well. But after I saw a few pics my partner captured on the nice camera, I felt better!

Anyway, expect some cool things from me soon. I'm starting a new chapter, as they say. 😎
