HB 851 IS OFFICIALLY FLORIDA LAW!

One of my proudest accomplishments in my first year in the Florida House was passing HB 851, Autism in the Classrooms, with unanimous bipartisan support.

Yesterday, I got to celebrate with some of the people who will help put it into action! And, of course, show a little FAU pride with some Owl Fingers!

The bill I’m holding is our new law requiring every Florida school district to offer annual autism-specific training for teachers and school administrators, developed in consultation with their local Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD).

Why does that matter? Because educators deserve the tools to meet the needs of every student, and families deserve to know their children are understood and supported in the classroom.

FAU’s CARD center does extraordinary work every day, providing free resources, training, and support to individuals with autism, their families, and educators. HB 851 connects that expertise directly with the teachers who need it.

A huge thank you to Dr. Jack Scott, Sabrina DeGoias, Dr. Susanna Launder, and Wanda Baldwin for celebrating this milestone with me, and to Florida Atlantic University for the incredible work they’re doing in our community.

This is just the beginning. I’m committed to building on this progress, strengthening our CARD centers, and expanding the resources available to students with autism and their families across Florida. by @_thelonggame_

Happy National Cat Day!

Meet Kiwi. He’s about a month old, incredibly sweet, well-behaved, and as you can hear, purring nonstop. We’re temporarily fostering him while we find him a permanent home. Send me a DM if you’re interested in adopting this little guy! by @_thelonggame_

We’re not here to mince words. Amendment 3 is a scam.

Proud to stand alongside Congresswoman Lois Frankel, our firefighters, and community leaders today to sound the alarm about what’s at stake for our local services.

📣 Thank you, Palm Beach County, for showing up for your neighbors and making your voices heard. 🤍✨

Congratulations to the candidates celebrating election wins. From Congress and Tallahassee to our county offices, school board, and local districts, we look forward to the work ahead. 🫱🏾‍🫲🏼🌊🗳️

To every canvasser, phone banker, Snack Captain, and volunteer driver who got canvassers to their routes and voters to the polls: thank you. And to our Election Day volunteers, poll watchers, poll workers, and everyone who pitched in behind the scenes, we see you and appreciate you. 🥰🥰🥰

The polls have closed, but the work of showing up for our neighbors continues. Tag someone who made a difference this election so we can thank them, too. 🙌🏽🙌🏾🙌🏿

Thank you, District 90!

I’m grateful to everyone who put their trust in me to continue representing our community in the Florida House.

To our volunteers, supporters, and everyone who knocked on doors, made calls, contributed, or cast a ballot, thank you. This victory belongs to all of you.

In my first year in Tallahassee, we passed legislation to better support students with autism and protect firefighters from harmful chemicals. I’m proud of that progress, but there’s much more to accomplish.

I’m looking forward to building on that work, standing up for our local communities, protecting working families, and making sure District 90 has a strong voice in Tallahassee.

Thank you for the opportunity to keep doing this work. Onward! by @_thelonggame_

In honor of National Black Cat Day, a few photos of our resident weirdo, Vixen.

Black cats are often overlooked in shelters, which is a shame, because ours has brought us endless love and laughter over the last four years.

Don’t overlook the black cats. You’re missing out.

🗳️ You’re the jury. Your ballot is your verdict. Now show up and VOTE EARLY! 📣🇺🇸

Bring a friend. Help a neighbor. Reach out to everyone counting on an Election Day reminder and help them get ready to vote early. 💙

📲 Send this to 3 people today. Ask when they’re voting, help them make a plan and check back until they’ve cast their ballots. Let’s turn encouragement into action! 🙌🏽🙌🏾🙌🏿🌊

“The idea of progress is no longer convincing or persuasive to a whole generation.” — Justin Trudeau

At today’s Urban Land Institute Fall Meeting in Miami Beach, the former Canadian Prime Minister shared a thought-provoking perspective on leadership, progress, and the challenges facing the next generation.

With housing and the cost of living increasingly out of reach, too many young people are losing faith in the promise of a better future.

But his broader message was one of possibility: through thoughtful leadership and a renewed commitment to opportunity, we can restore that promise and build a future worth believing in.

Great hearing from Katie Phang at today’s Palm Beach County Democratic Party luncheon! The former MSNBC host turned independent journalist shared her insights on the November 3 elections and the growing challenges facing a free press. At a time when journalists face increasing pressure and barriers to reporting, her commitment to facts, transparency, and holding those in power accountable is more important than ever. by @_thelonggame_

Great morning with the Kings Point Democratic Club! Always a pleasure catching up with Congresswoman Lois Frankel, Yvette Drucker, who’s running to flip the Palm Beach County Clerk & Comptroller seat, and former State Senator Annette Taddeo, who’s running statewide for Florida’s Chief Financial Officer!

A big thank you to former State Rep. Irv Slosberg for inviting us to speak and for his continued leadership of the Kings Point Democratic Club!

With Election Day just around the corner, there’s a lot at stake up and down the ballot. Let’s keep the momentum going through November 3! by @_thelonggame_

Honored to receive the endorsement of The Palm Beach Post for re-election! Proud of what we’ve accomplished in Tallahassee in my first term, and excited to keep delivering results for the people of District 90.

Thank you to the editorial board for their confidence and support! by @_thelonggame_
