It’s conflicting to drink up the warm fuzzies of Park City’s mountain bubble while the country around us keeps breaking and burning in cycles of pain, cruelty, ignorance and violence. I fall back to @_motionxpictures wise words in Familiar Touch (a fav film of the year — and, yay, @byerski) “In a destructive world, the ability to build things is a very important gift.” For all the monuments we have to the destruction of war and strife, #sundance, on its best day (notwithstanding its inherent flaws) is a living monument to the construction, art, expression, representation, conversation, and connection.

I’ve been lucky to share in all of that over the past 25 years, with my fam (thanks @joannakahndoilney and @maxdoilney for a home away from home for me and @petewlevin!), my ogs (shout @mattleefischer @craig_van) and my wife @katiepo7! We feasted, we fested, she shared our sweat, work and love with the world, we sung in RVs, we protested in streets, we made friends, we cheered them on, and we even won it once.

My Park City Sundance era ends tonight. Endings are often about next beginnings and transference. Time to take all this love and energy back out into the world so that we may continue to build art and push back against the destructive forces trying to break shit down. taken in Park City, Utah by @_time.is.love

Love is a collaboration, a conversation, an invitation.

So many shouts to our MATERIALISTS family for brining love back to both sides of the camera and to our fearless leader in love @helloellephanta for inviting us all into the conversation she has with the world.

We did our own heavy math on this one, just like LUCY, JOHN, and HARRY, but our math asked “do we make each other better?” And we did.

Big love to this movie, to our MATS family, to adventures of the heart, to the bangingest NYC AD dept, to my family (@katiepo7 ) who saw this through and came out for hugs, and for the cousins and friends who welcomed us on the daily. Oh, and New York, I love you.

Go see our love on the screen. It wasn’t just for each other, it’s for all of you too. And maybe by talking about it more, we’ll all make each other a little better. by @_time.is.love
