Worth the wait.

The J11 “The Hill” from @sketchyboyzwatchclub

I missed out on the initial release of these straps and had been patiently waiting for them to come back in stock. When they finally dropped again, I jumped on the opportunity, and I can confidently say they were well worth the wait.

The rad color combo, paired with the brushed hardware and signature Stay Sketchy details, makes this probably my favorite strap in my collection right now.

Here it is paired with two very different aviation chronographs: my Citizen Promaster Navihawk and IWC Top Gun Double Chronograph.

It’s not often that one strap looks equally at home on two completely different watches, but the J11 pulls it off.

Now the real question: Which wears it better, the Citizen or the IWC?

Aviation Bezel - Part 3

How far can you travel in 20 minutes at 140 knots?

Using the slide rule bezel on my Citizen Promaster Navihawk, we can calculate distance traveled without a calculator or EFB.

140 KT × 20 MIN = ~47 Nautical Miles

Old-school aviation tools still have their place, even on your wrist.

Aviation Bezel - Part 2

Another simple one is calculating ground speed. All you need to know is the distance you’ve traveled and how long it took. Line it up on the @citizenwatchus Promaster Navihawk bezel and the correct number will pop up at the top of the dial.

It’s a simple way to rehack your numbers if you need it.

Aviation Bezel - Part 1

A really cool touch of the @citizenwatchus Promaster Navihawk Chrono is the bezel. The inner and outer markers combine to what is essentially an analog flight computer, or E6B aka whizz wheel.

This first video demonstrates how to calculate flight time based on the speed you’re going.

In modern aviation, it’s basically unnecessary to have to use this, let’s be real about that. But it’s a skill that every pilot has to learn at some point, and it could be one of those things to help you in a pinch with a partial or full electrical failure. It’s a tool, know how to use it.

This watch is hitting different. I might do a quick video series about the bezel and how it can be useful.

🚨NWA🚨

Saw the @citizenwatchus Promaster Navihawk on a sale on Joma, so wanted to give it a go. My first impression: why didn’t I own one sooner?

Sometimes it feels like a new watch on a different strap. Probably why I swap so often.
