while yes, we should always strive for reconciliation, and that should always be the end goal, Jesus has given us that example countless times throughout His Word. At the same time, honoring your father and mother doesn’t always mean being buddy buddy, all the time. Sometimes it looks like loving them from a distance because you don’t want to put yourself in a position where you’re continually tempted to sin …especially if the relationship consistently provokes anger or leads to unhealthy patterns. You can still pray for them, forgive them, and desire restoration while also establishing wise, healthy boundaries. boundaries are not the opposite of honor. in some situations, they can be apart of walking in wisdom and obedience.I just also won’t be like a dog going back to his vomit-constantly getting hurt in a place where I know I’m not even wanted . why would I continuously throw my pearls two pigs? ( Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces. - mathew 7:6)#tinaswrld by @_tinaswrld

(highkey) 🙈🙈🙈 Rage baiting is intentionally provoking anger… and given that we are to be slow to anger…that is causing someone to be led into temptation .and in proverbs 16, it does say that two of the six things that the Lord hates is a lying tongue and a person who stirs up conflict … so like…rage baiting is very much a sin 🙈#tinaswrld by @_tinaswrld

a lot of christians know what they believe without really knowing why they believe it.especially if you grew up in religion, we’re taught what to believe, what to do and what not to do…but not always shown where Scripture teaches it or why God says it.here are some examples that I thought of :why is astrology incompatible with christianity?why shouldn’t christians follow zodiac signs or horoscopes?what’s actually wrong with tarot cards, psychics, crystals used for spiritual purposes, or the evil eye?Why is joining fraternities or sororities bad as a Christian ?what does it actually mean to be unequally yoked? why is sex reserved for marriage?what does repentance actually mean?what is salvation? like actually?can you REALLYY explain the gospel to someone?why do christians believe Jesus is the only way to God?why shouldnt christians accept other religious texts as God’s Word? why should we forgive people who hurt us?i’m sure there’s more but this is just what I thought of initially … I feel like we’re just told being in a frat as a Christian is bad without ever knowing why … or getting your future, read by tarot cards is bad without ever knowing why….but if we have strong convictions, we should be willing to study them for ourselves instead of only repeating what someone else told us.🙈I saw a quote that was like “strong beliefs don’t fear questions they survive them.”so I think if someone asks you, “why do you believe that?” there should be more to your answer than, “because my pastor said so,” or “because that’s just what i’ve always been told.” or wtvrGod’s Word is meant to be studieddddd . not just repeated ( that’s not beneficial) ask the questions. search the Scriptures. know why you believe what you believe!!!!you don’t have to know everything but …..“Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.
