And after landing in OB when I moved to San Diego in October 2017, I've headed north to Cardiff to move into a bigger spot. Home is definitely Southern California 💫

Cancer free. Version 2.0⚡️

Today concludes nearly 6 months of the process to get a diagnosis of a palpable mass I found back in early August of 2023. It was right under my incision scar from my prior breast cancer of 2016. My mind went in a million directions but I had to just do it again. Only now in a new state with different insurance.

-

The standalone tests I had in the coming months all pointed to likely scar tissue + calcifications as the culprit. I was not satisfied leaving this alone based on opinions from non breast-specific doctors. I did my research and found a reputable #ucsd nurse practioner and scheduled a consult w him. He recommended a diagnostic Mammo and ultrasound in late December. And from those tests, a biopsy was ordered from a Radiologist who specializes in early detection of breast cancer.

So today, I received the best possible news from that same Radiologist I met in December. Pathology indicated no sign of recurrent breast cancer and that the mass is fat necrosis, a common post surgical change.

If you have read this far, you know how I came to San Diego. Cancer did change my life entirely and it continues to teach me lessons. But for today, I am humbled to be able to write of this news. Leaving it at that.....

Vacation Part II 💫

After Tahoe, I drove to Oregon to attend Aimee's Ladies Weightlifting camp. While I'm not solely an Olympic lifter these days, I came to camp to learn from one of the best in the sport.

@aimeeanayaeverett devoted her time while imparting her knowledge onto us for 3 days. She is a delightful mix of kind & compassionate while fierce and brutally funny at the same time. Attending a camp of hers was on my radar for sometime and I'm extremely grateful to have done it. Meeting women from all walks of life to band together in lifting and share in comraderie was truly humbling. And to be in one of the most famous garage gyms in the world was jaw dropping. Lastly, who can go to a Cataylst camp and not fall in love with Blue & Steely❤️🥹
