The Shoot vs. The Photos: Given Edition ๐ŸŽธ๐ŸŽถ . Thank you to my friends who trusted me to capture a series they love so intimately AND to push me to shoot in a style Iโ€™m not used to. Telling stories through a series of photos is one of my favorite forms of media and is something I enjoy capturing but itโ€™s hard to find the time to execute this kind of work during conventions and when all your friends live in different states and even countries. MAGFest is one of our favorite conventions and what better way to kick off an incredible weekend than with a photoshoot on a very empty Wednesday afternoon. Iโ€™m so glad the weather decided to be nice to us and bless us with some incredible golden hour sun. ๐Ÿ“ท & editing: @sorairo_days ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿ’— yuki: @nighteyescos ๐Ÿค ritsuka: @ranran.cos ๐Ÿ’™ at magfest this year @ranran.cos and @nighteyescos and @sorairo_days made a dream cosplay come true! today being ritsuka's birthday, it felt like a good day to post some of the photos at last. the whole month of pride got away from me, but pride is every month in my book. it was hard to choose. if i could i would have picked every single one! this is the first of a few posts so! โค๏ธ i love #given . think that's not news to anyone here. every time i read it i have that experience of feeling many parts of my own life at the same time. it amounts to resonance. someone else's experience is theirs, not mine. but it might be the same shore or sea we've looked at. where footsteps were and are no longer. where they might be again, and gone, also again. big statements can fall flat or feel frightening: will it make sense? will others find it foolish? /do you understand?/ but without those thoughts and feelings, i think a story might find itself a bit incomplete. the absence of asking and speaking is also a loss. when i look at hands being held and hands that cannot hold anymore, it means a lot to me. one love does not necessarily negate another. an end is not always a rejection, and beginnings do not always happen in the spring. "i met you and i heard music." grateful for every story, every song. those panels of open space drifting with light or drowning in shadow, i'm grateful. it's not that given means "more" to me than anyone else who loves it. it is just that i /do/ love it. very much. a story you find when you need it is a friend, i think. something like that. taken in MAGfest by @_trivialove

photo and edit: @sorairo_days who speedran this for me to app to the @fanstage.dmv #given cupsleeve event ;~; given is a love story but it's also a story about grief, growth, and how sometimes even after the end, there is more. if there's ever been something you feel you need to say even when you don't have the words, something you /have/ to feel even if you don't know what to do with it at the time, if you've ever regretted but not wanted to let that regret become you...given might be for you. if you love music. if you hear a chord and can find yourself soft in the downward gold of going home together, if you can miss someone and love them and still fall in love again. if their song is your song too, yes. given might be also, for you. very excited to also share the photos from the photoshoot @ranran.cos (ritsuka) and @nighteyescos (yuki) and i were able to do with @sorairo_days who loves narrative photography as much as we do. getting to do this specific shoot was a dream because, considering the characters involved, my criteria for it was that everyone else had to love it. i had to feel that they 'get' it. it's just how i am with my favorites. so i felt very lucky. thank you @shayincos for accepting the mafuyu wig commission and making the adjustments i asked for, which i felt bad for asking for but i was so grateful you didn't mind, because he's my favorite. thank you so much @basketbaes and @coindropservice and @ninjadude73 for all the behind the scenes things. hearing your voices really warmed my heart finally going through the videos. and here and there hearing /everyone's/ laughter makes me already miss everyone! ๐Ÿ’ฟโค๏ธ #ใ‚ญใ‚™ใ‚ฆใ‚™ใƒณ #givencosplay #mafuyu #magfest taken in MAGfest by @_trivialove
