This is my story…

I was going to college but I just didn’t have any direction or honestly any passion for any specific thing. All I knew is I wanted to do something to help others.

At this time I got a small job being a videographer and editor and was making good money for what I thought back then. Haha $3,000 in two months.

Then someone I knew told me about Crypto and how it was going to be the next big thing. So me being me I put all my eggs into one basket…. Yea I lost all of my money in the FTX scandal.

So there I was. I had -$18 to my name. No savings, no more money coming in because the Christmas light thing didn’t work out and no plan for the future. I was lost for sure.

Then my good buddy Jake pitched me the idea of doing summer sales. I said no and kept moving on. Then he called me a month later and said to at least meet with his manager.

So I thought what’s the worst that could happen. So I met with one of my best friends now Charlie and took a chance! Choosing to do summer sales was the greatest blessing of my life!

I made 51k that summer, learned how to work hard, had fun and learned so many valuable lessons. After that summer I didn’t waste it on a nice $30k new car. I bought a $5k used van and saved most my money for a down payment on a home.

Next year I came back, dropped out of school and went all in. I lead a big team and made my first six figures! (Oh ya and got married in the middle of the summer)

Coming back for my third year I lead my own office in Virginia and it was sooo good for me! It exposed a lot of what I needed to work on and I grew so much and learned a ton! I ended up buying my first home here!

After that summer (2025 summer) I decided it was time to make a shift and plant roots somewhere!

We ended up deciding to stay in St. George, I got my real estate license and decided to go all in to being the best realtor I can be!

Now I help people who live in St. George and moving to St. George find the home for them!

It really does bring me a lot of joy seeing people be able to purchase a home even when they didn’t think they could in the beginning!

I wanted to make a post about who I am since over 1,000 of you have followed me recently and personally don’t know me.

But my name is Tyler West and I got my real estate license last year. I work for Element Real Estate Brokers and becoming a Realtor has been such a blessing for me.

After doing door to door sales for 3 years I decided, like I did with D2D, to go ALL IN to being a Realtor and it has been such a good opportunity for me! Ive been learning so much and have been helping a ton of people! I was blessed to get the Rookie of the Year award at Element and I am eager to keep growing, learning and helping you with your real estate needs.

I have loved living in St. George. I moved here after my wife and I got married in 2024. At first I was pretty hesitant moving here because I knew hardly anyone and leaving behind friends and family was hard! But I could not be more grateful for the move!

St. George has been such a good place for me and my wife. I have met so many new people who are now good friends, we have gone on so many fun adventures and as you can tell from my posts I love the lifestyle here way more than I thought I was going to.

If you live in St. George, Zion National Park is practically in your backyard.

And if you’ve never hiked Angels Landing… add it to your bucket list.

Incredible views, massive red cliffs, and a hike that makes you feel like you’re on top of the world.

And I’m not gonna lie there are some sketchy parts but it’s totally worth it.

We did angels landing a couple days ago and it took us about two hours.

You definitely need a permit for the chain section, but it’s pretty easy to get.

And with views like this, it’s definitely worth it.

One of the coolest parts about living in Southern Utah is having places like this just 45 minutes away. taken in St. George, Utah by @_tywest_

Over 2 years ago, I never would’ve guessed I’d be living in St. George, let alone deciding to stay for good.

I grew up near Salt Lake City. My family was there, my friends were there, and honestly, life was comfortable. I never really had a reason to leave.

Then I met my wife.

After doing long distance, we got married. She was finishing school in St. George, and I was working in Provo.

So, like any good husband… I followed my wife to Southern Utah 😂

At first, I figured it would just be for a couple of years while she finished school.

But after living here for over a year, we realized something…

We didn’t want to leave.

And it really comes down to the lifestyle.

☀️ More sunshine and mild winters
🚗 Less time sitting in traffic
🌵 No more dealing with the same winter inversions and poor air quality
🏜️ Five incredible state parks within about 30 minutes
🏓 Playing pickleball and making new friends
🚴‍♂️ Morning runs and bike rides before the day starts
🌅 Evening walks with some of the best sunsets
🌊 Days at the lake swimming, paddleboarding, cliff jumping, and playing spikeball

But honestly, it’s more than just the weather and the scenery.

It’s the laid-back atmosphere. The adventurous people. The feeling that there’s always something fun to do outside.

We came here thinking it was temporary, but now we’re building our life here and couldn’t be happier with that decision.

Some of my favorite things to do here in St. George are all within 45 minutes.

And it’s going to the state and national parks!

There is so much to do in each of them, but here are some of my favorites!

❄️🏜️Snow Canyon

I love all the little hikes in Snow Canyon because they’re super easy and have some of the best views!

And if you haven’t done the lava caves, you really need to try them out. It’s a lot more fun than I thought it was gonna be.

And there’s also a good patch of sand where you can go and do whatever you want.

🏝️🏜️Sand Hollow

Sand Hollow, such an underrated spot in there some many things to do.

You can go paddle boarding, cliff, jumping, and hang out at the little beach area.

Men just below San Hollow is the perfect spot to go ATV riding!

🏜️Zion National Park

With Zion only being 45 minutes away, makes it a perfect little afternoon trip.

I just went with my wife and family yesterday and we hiked Angel’s landing.

I got Zion multiple times during the year and it never disappoints.

Why would anyone move to St. George? 🤔

I grew up near Salt Lake City. My family and friends were there, and I never really pictured myself living anywhere else.

Then I met my wife.

After doing long distance for a while, we got married while she was finishing school in St. George and I was working in Provo.

So, like any smart husband… I followed my wife down south after we got married. 😂

Our plan was to stay for a couple of years.

That was until I actually experienced life here.

We fell in love with the lifestyle, and now we can’t see ourselves living anywhere else.

Here’s what changed our minds:

☀️ Being able to run, bike, and get outside almost year-round.

🏓 Playing pickleball with friends on a random evening.

🌅 Going on sunset walks and enjoying some pretty incredible views.

🏕️ Having five state parks within about 30 minutes.

🏄 Spending weekends paddleboarding, swimming, cliff jumping, or just hanging out at the lake.

🚗 Spending less time in traffic and more time doing the things we actually enjoy.

And of course, saying goodbye to those long winters and winter inversions.

But honestly, it’s about more than the weather or the scenery.

It’s the lifestyle, the people, and the feeling that there’s always something to do outside.
