Four long years, but not long enough🎓
This is an extraordinary feat that I fought tooth and nail to make happen. I am the first in my family to graduate with a bachelor’s degree while having a full ride to UC San Diego. I received my B.A. in Anthropology with a concentration in Climate Change and Human Solutions and a B.A. in Sociology. I am FIRST generation and I completed this degree in honor of all who came before me, to my grandparents that came to the U.S. with my parents from Mexico with nothing💝🇲🇽 Born and raised in East Los Angeles, living in section-8 housing and constantly being dealt poor cards in life…I don’t think I was supposed to make it this far. Yet, thanks to resilience instilled in me from my community, teachers that believed in me, and family who pushed me to be better, I was able to succeed. A special thank you to my siblings who sacrificed so much to raise me, I would not be here without your aid🫂

Some accomplishments of my final year:
• I completed a rewarding experience, my Honors Thesis titled, “The Power of Perceived Risk: Changes in Practice of Resistance and Unconventional Politics”. 📝👩🏽‍💻
• I was a TA for a wonderful 5th grade class who changed my perspective on teaching💞🐛📚
• Volunteered for 3 different food drive organizations to help decrease food insecurity 🍛🫂
• rejoined my folklorico team at UCSD after taking a year off for work👠💃
• Became a paralegal intern for San Diego County, completing rewarding work that impacts those in juvenile detention or rehabilitation👩🏽‍⚖️

This is not the end of my academic journey, as I anticipate going to law school or masters school for public policy! Thank you all to have contributed to my amazing four years. It was beautiful getting to know each and every one of you🤍🎓 by @_v1vs_
