DEVOURANCE

Looks like one of Townsville’s more recognisable abandoned locations will soon be disappearing for good.

Back when we filmed the music video for EXHUME, we were doing what local bands do - working with a budget, getting creative and looking for somewhere that fit the atmosphere of the track.

Safe to say, we found it.

With the old Pallarenda facility now set to be demolished, we thought we’d dig up some old behind-the-scenes footage from the EXHUME shoot and give you a little look at what went on that day.

Pretty fucking cool that a local Townsville death metal band got to capture this place before it disappears for good.

Huge shoutout to Arik @imperialmediaaustralia for filming the video, Luke Shredder for the mix/master and @yowza2017 for featuring on vocals and absolutely sending that breakdown. 🤘

While we’re looking back, we’re also deep into recording the “DEVOURANCE” EP and quietly loading up the back pocket with plenty more to come from VARRIM.

For now, crank EXHUME and check out the full music video if you haven’t already. by @_varrim_

What a night.

We’re still trying to process the fact that we got to share the stage with @fearfactory in our own hometown.

To everyone who came out, jumped in the pit, grabbed merch, said g’day, took photos, and showed us support, thank you.

The love we felt from Townsville on the night was unreal.

A massive thank you to Fear Factory, Dysie and @soundworks_touring_australia , Tim and the entire crew at @warehousetownsville for making this show happen.

Special shout out to @fimdrums for coming in clutch when we needed it most. Absolute legend.

To our friends, families, supporters, and everyone who has backed VARRIM from day one, thank you for being part of the journey.

We grew up watching bands like this. To see VARRIM’s name on the poster alongside Fear Factory, and then actually step onto that stage in front of our hometown crowd, is something we’ll never forget.

This was a huge milestone for us, but we’re only getting started.
