9/11 is always a tough one, especially for the past decade as it has often been spent on the water with Vermont Rowing. As generations come through the program not having many ties to that day, what it changed, and how it felt in those moments watching, waiting, disbelieving, and frantically trying to get a cell phone call through, I keep looking at the one constant for me, and that is rowing.
That morning was a beautiful, crisp pre-fall morning that I spent with the Syracuse Women’s Rowing team, and as we boarded the bus back to campus, the driver had the radio on. And no one really knew what was happening, but the bus got quiet, and as we approached campus, we knew something big was happening.
Dorms TVs were tuned and the halls were silent. Room doors all open and people gathered watching the impossible happen. Trying to call friends, parents of friends, and families making plans to vacate metros for fears of additional attacks, that morning changed everything we knew.
With so much change, and so much time passage, we cannot forget the innocent individuals, the brave heroes who ran into the towers, the ones that stayed in their offices until the last ones got to the stairwells, the search teams, the search dogs, the coast guard and civilian vessels that aided in evacuating lower Manhattan, the families who continue to mourn, the people still, to this day, trying to identify victims and bring closure and all those caring for those with illness related to the toxic fallout. We will #neverforget. by @_victoria2333_

Another one in the #mitchrapp series done. This one ironically was about a war with Iran and the potential for closing the Strait and oil prices wreaking havoc on the global economy among other CIA spy plot lines. Felt like they wrapped it up in the book faster than the time it took for a memorandum of understanding…🤷‍♀️ by @_victoria2333_
