Better late than never!

Earlier this year, we released out 5th studio album. And while we got to celebrate with our Oregon community, we haven’t done so with our Wellington whanau

That changes this coming Sunday, August 16th at the Vogelmorn Bowling Club

Early show, 4:30 start. We’ll be playing new songs from the new record and slinging vinyl - it should be a grand ‘ol time! taken in Wellington, New Zealand by @_weathermachine

@christopher_sibley and @ollieskilton were generous enough to take time with me to talk about “The Tumbling” - one of the new songs from “Love & Science Fiction”.

I’m incredibly proud of this song - it sits very close to my heart. It’s been some time since I’ve written a story song, and this one is right there in the tradition of earlier Weather Machine tunes like “The Pelican Song” and “Skeleton Jack”, and focuses on some very serious topics around climate change

My goal was to make it meaningful without sacrificing joy, play, and story. It’s meant to draw you in with fantasy and then surprise you with real life. I wrote it on a drive over the Cascade Range a few years after much of it burned down. The woods were starting to regenerate, which is what I hope this song does for the soul by @_weathermachine
