It seems just right to take this trip down memory lane...exactly one year after 🥊

Back in Bangkok, at @rajadamnern_stadium for Rajadamnern Knockout: 7 bouts of Muay Thai, 3 rounds per bout.

(ps: I want someone to announce my life as this referee does)

Do nak muay (muay yhai boxers)... dance before a match?

Yes, some of them do.

That's the wai khru ram muay, a traditional dance rooted in respect, culture, and mental preparation.

This ritual, dating back to ancient Siam, pays tribute to teachers, ancestors, and the sport itself, symbolizing gratitude and respect

I thought that after this extraordinary trip, I’d break free from my usual lazy calmness and edit and post the videos more quickly 🎥 driven by the excitement of revisiting these wonderful places.

Another adventure for the duck trio 🦆 ( @flaviolivolsi @alinipink ), again in Ella, Sri Lanka 🇱🇰
.
There is something liberating about dangling in mid-air, hanging from a rope - thankfully not metaphorical - and experience a rush of adrenaline.
Flying like birds, swooping at 80kmph (albeit for just over half a minute).
Letting go, but in a total safe environment.
And when this energetic intoxication is over, a nice relaxing swim with a view is almost a must, even better with a cocktail in hand by the pool (Tree of Life 🧉, coconut-based, crazy! And uhm.. yeah, beer in my hand just for display lol).
.
📝 Useful info:
We went for the Ziplin & Chill package (Rs 10,900 with zipline + 2 hours of pool vs Rs 9,900 of zipline alone).
You scan a qrcode and book the activity you want to do, then go to the waiting room and wait your turn.
Headset, helmet and harness and you go to the starting platform.
You jump in two and each person has an attendant who hooks them up, explains how it works and the safety rules.
Then the two attendants switch places, check the sling hooked by the other and ask you questions to see if you have understood what to do and what not to do.
Having passed the test, the gates are open and it's finally time to go and... jump!

Yup, that was our view at the end of the hike.
(Flat) White.
Everywhere.
An expanse of white all around, which did not allow you to see over the cliff.
Directly into the clouds.
It was a nice walk, though, and we were able to enjoy some views during the walk (00:15 you can see "Ella Rock").
From Ella you take a road to the Flying Ravana and continue a little further.
And yes, we also did the zip line (on a different day). But more on that in another video.

This safari was not what I expected, although well, to be honest, I don't really know what I expected.
Up at 2 am waiting for the car that would take us to @yala_national_park_ to start our tour with the first light of dawn.
We drove around most of the time by Jeep, exploring, chasing rumours about where the animals were and meeting them by chance, sometimes hidden and sometimes in plain sight.
Except at lunch break, where we stopped at the monkey oasis (?) and ate the meal prepared by our guide.
And where I was chased by a monkey (🙈 no, sorry, I have no video of this embarrassing moment).
Although in the car, it was wonderful to spend such a day in the wild in the company of my beautiful Sisy Group (@flaviolivolsi @alinipink @innabar 🦆💙 ) jumping over bumps and getting excited every time we saw another animal.
We met a lot of elephants 🐘 ready to 'greet' us with their ears (yes, I know they don't do that, but still...) and we took home the ultimate satisfaction of seeing a leopard.

🤓 Fun Fact: Yala National Park in Sri Lanka is one of the places with the highest density of leopards in the world. 🐆

Here is another series of photos of some of the animals encountered during the safari. 🦌
Free, in their environment even if under human scrutiny. A whole day in search of these creatures, like the one in photo 9, which we didn't even see at first.
Then at a certain moment our guide stops the car and points his finger at.. nothing.
It took us a moment to realise that he was pointing at that very trunk and that little lizard peeking out of its top. 🦎
Not to mention the king of the park (or queen, I don't want to assume their gender) who almost at the end of the day decided to show themself to us, if only in passing. 🐆
And he did it by looking us straight in the eye.
.
Again, both @flaviolivolsi and I enjoyed shooting with the Nikon, so these are photos taken by both of us (who remembers who took what lol).

That time our Sinhalese crew decided to wake up at 2 a.m. to start a day of safari at @yalanationalpark_ at dawn.
Amidst roads full of bumps, evil monkeys chasing you 🐒, elephants simply wanting to cross the road in peace 🐘, and leopards running away until the last minute 🐆, the day unfolded into a truly unforgettable adventure.
Even better when equipped with an @sigmaglobalvision 150-600 telephoto lens

Peeking through the sights of Hikkaduwa, capturing details with a telephoto lens and smiles from much closer.
A place that lies between the sea and tranquility, where leaping three-striped palm squirrels 🐿, cows 🐄, and other wild creatures 🐈 hide in plain sight.
A place where you can observe the surprising constancy of everyday life, so different from our own, yet at the same time, familiar.
