Why would any man willingly give himself for a wicked generation? A set of people who consciously despised Him, hated Him and sought to wrong Him without any reason. The very people He came to save were against Him but He kept on going. Why? Because of LOVE. He loves us beyond measure and His will is to be with us at the end.

Where there is ignorance, there is always grace. He kept on pushing because of our ignorance. He loves us, and He knows that the things we do, we do them because we do not really understand.

Take for instance a child whose parents are constantly forcing to him/her eat, the child might cry and dislike the parent for that but not withstanding the parents would still keep on pushing. Eventually, when the child is grown and comes to understand the benefits of eating, he will be grateful for the effort of the parents. In that same way, Jesus knew that we do not really understand the consequences of the things we do so he kept on and is still pushing. Paul was a persecutor, but God did not condemn him. In fact, he gave him the gift of the holyspirit to be enabled.

Because of His sacrifice, and His mercy, and His love, and grace, we are saved and we have been healed from every sickness. We have been set free from every captivity. The only reason why we still experience these things, is because we are not aware that we are free from them. A prisoner in an unlocked cell will remain captive if he is not aware that the gates are opened.
JESUS HAS PAID THE PRICE!

Which is better? To be justified by man or to be justified by God?

Self-righteousness is an obstacle of growth. When you see yourself as "pure", you simply give yourself no room for spiritual growth. I mean when something is pure, it has no reason to be cleaned again.

Let me break it down for you this way. Jesus came down to give his life for us, so that all who believe in Him may be saved and receive eternal life right? And to receive from Him, you must first come in faith and you must ASK. But you can't ask for what you do not need, or rather what you think you do not need. And it is funny because there is no limit to growth.

Christianity is a journey. Through intimacy, we get to know God, His will and what is right. It is journey of continuous discovery and transformation. Through salvation we receive God in us and He changes every wrong in us WHEN WE LET HIM. It is God within us that literally makes us pure, He is too holy to behold iniquity.

Therefore in this journey of Christianity we must be meek. 1 Corinthians 4:7 says "For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?" Self-righteousness is a product of pride. We must bring ourselves to be teachable and get knowledge through intimacy with Christ.

It is not by speaking in Tongues or by biblical knowledge, but by the presence of God within you!

After I got saved, I felt like I was faking everything. I mean, like I was a different person, and then all of a sudden I decided to be righteous. It was even harder because during that period, when I get to the Chapel I would be solemn, but when I was outside I would still be my old self. But deep down I really wanted to change. I wanted to know God more and get closer to Him.

I gradually began to know God more. I experienced Him do a lot of unexplainable things in my life, which caused me to believe in Him more. That was where my "senseless faith" started. As I continued to walk with Him (though then I wasn't consistent at all), the same righteousness I felt I was faking began to feel more real. HE WAS WITH ME. I felt Him. And what amazes me is that even before I felt saved His grace was upon me.

He has redeemed you. He has called you by name. You are his. Even though it does not feel like you deserve it, FEAR NOT. He is a God that knows the end from the beginning. He will walk with you throughout the whole refining process. When you pass through the waters , He will be with you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned. So, whenever you feel like you are not worthy, "fear not for HE has redeemed you."

What does it take to get rest, what is the price for peace?
Verse 29 says "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."
Verse 30 of the same chapter says "For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

A lot of us are weak and are carrying a lot in our heart and minds, but physically we appear to be alright. Most of us can't even bear to keep carrying these burdens, and we are looking for where to lay them off. That's why we then run to things like drugs and alcohol that would only shift our attention for a little while. Today, God is telling us to cast them all on Him. But there is a price. We must make an exchange. Give Him your burdens to bear, and take His yoke.

What then is the yoke of God, what is His burden?
His yoke is to serve Him, to spread His word. To teach His word to all nations. To be with Him at all times, even when things are hard, even when people persecute you. To not be ashamed of Him, to do His will, to heal the sick and to free the oppressed. TO BELIEVE IN HIM.
