“... be someone who opens up the tables and swings wide the doors. I pray that you would sit across from people you don’t understand in traditions you will never personally embrace, and there discover friendship and holiness and good mischief. May you give hope to the weary around you, from your place of rest, that it is okay to catch your breath for a hot second. May you sit with the suffering and notice, in every room you inhabit, who is missing from the room. May you be given the gift of crouching down on the curb and in the alleys with the ones who can’t keep up with the parades. I pray that someday you were given the gift of singing the doxology with people who mean every single word of it. May you pray the Lord’s prayer in a cacophony of languages, remembering that God listens to all of us. May you relearn old and new ways to pray. May you live within God’s counter story of shalom, in defiance of the powers and principalities of this world, prophetic in your commitment to love in life.”

#Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under #trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the #clouds float across the #sky, is by no means a waste of time. ☀️ ☁️ 🌳

“And even though I’ve learned that I have to walk with uncertainty on this road, I can’t help but sing about the beauty I see along the way.” - Audrey Assad

One thing I will always find beautiful - no matter the amount of ugliness I continue to see and experience in this world - is a young heart-shaped leaf of a philodendron. 💚

May you all find yourselves surrounded by #beauty today and every day to come. ☀️🌳 .

My #LemonLimePhilodendron is bathing in direct sunlight purely to show off for #Fridayfoliage. They’ve prefer to hang out in bright indirect light. 👍🏼..
