If you asked me 2 weeks ago if I was looking forward to my 25th birthday, I would have gone on a whole rant about how anxious I felt about celebrating my birthday because ngl, my early 20s hasn’t been smooth sailing and idk if I had it in me to go through another year in the trenches 🫩 (lwk sad because yk how birthdays are for Virgos).

Little did I know that I would be solving my own murder 2 weeks later as I went on a whole journey of meeting, interrogating and discovering clues held by some of my closest loved ones or even the cool recent connections that I’ve made. I told @masc.and.cheese that I wanted to feel “seen” this time around. And he achieved that by setting the stage for me to nerd out on my own death but also getting to feel how I am understood and cared for by people around me.

I’m also thankful for the intimate dinners/brunch, the delicious birthday cakes, lovely conversations and gifts. Yes, I absolutely adore the heart-shaped carabiner, floral scented body glitter and leopard print skirts. But I’m mostly grateful for the presence, energy and quality time I got to spend with my loved ones.

Birthday this year holds a different meaning to me now as I’ve realized maybe it’s not a celebration of a year well-done or an exciting upcoming year. But it’s a celebration of love around me, as I’ve been blessed to experience it from the people who I’ve met, loved and cared for.

Well for those who were curious about the answer: it was the Duchess of Vermillion who offed me using a sharp pencil at the mathematics department 😵 by @_xtullll_

A year ago I moved back to Vietnam around this time, attempting to find stability in my chaotic 20s.
