celebrating 22 years of this beautiful human being today. where do i even begin?

right now, in my time, the little we truly have, i feel that the people you choose to spend the rest of your life with means more than the amount of money attached to a name, more than any purpose rooted deeply in soil. it’s true that people are social souls, & maybe, at some point or another, our history may have already been magically inscribed somewhere. or maybe that’s just fate. but what’s life when you’re left to believe there is only one reality of it?

i say that our choices reflect who we are, & also who we become. & choosing each other is something i would hope for in every reality.

taking a moment to express my gratitude, love, and deep admiration for you wonderful people. i think i got pretty lucky that i just so happened to be traveling around the world, experiencing a completely new culture, language & life with some of the most down-to-earth, inspiring, & incredibly warm-hearted souls. something so beyond cool was seeing how all of us, living in different states & uni’s, with unique backgrounds & personalities, connected & came together because of one collective mission: to become doctors who can overcome language and cultural barriers in healthcare. uh yeah, inspiration overload. seriously. & if anything could top that, considering that some of you were already M1s, had just graduated & were applying to your cycles, & already traveled abroad in other countries … i mean, c’mon. i truly have no words for how much i look up to all of you. as for the rest of us who are still going strong in uni & trying to prepare ourselves for the long road ahead, i can’t begin to express how much i’m rooting for every single one of you. for all of us. thank you for all that you are & all that you have shown me; i will never forget it ♡ here’s to staying on track (: taken in Latin America by @_y3lli_
