life lately pt. 2 🌸 it was such an honor to be an actor for Alabama Shakespeare Festival’s Southern Writers Festival of New Plays again! even more of an honor to read an AMAZING play by @jaaycole_ & to share the stage with my little brother @sean_dawnn. 💘

Playwrights were given 2 days to write a 10 minute play that had to use the line “That’s not how we do it where I’m from!” and 3 elements drawn out of a hat; Jaycie’s were krispy kreme doughnuts, an abandoned truck, & the sound of cicadas. Actors were called in on a Saturday morning (after playwrights met on Friday) to read through the plays aloud, break for playwrights to make revisions and come back to rehearse and the shows went up the same exact day.

But the BEST part of it all, my girl won Audience Choice for her work! Much deserved. I can’t wait to work with you again Jaycie; keep writing & showing the world true Black Girl Magic! ✨💖

Here’s our reading of Jaycie Coleman’s “First Date.” & ladies be like June, we not settling for Jeremiah’s! 😂 #womenshistorymonth #theatre #savethearts #alabamashakes taken in Alabama Shakespeare Festival by @_yourspecialk
