In the last couples of month I experimented with mixed media, creating a weirdly cute video about apocalypses. I filmed some of the clips in Milan and used some that I had in my archive.
✺ the first act is about the explosion on the sun.

The process behind making this video is a bit nonsense but I think the outcome is worth it.
first thing first I filmed the video with my phone, imported it in premiere, changed it to 10fps and exported the frames as jpeg files. I printed all the frames layout on some A4 sheet and then started drawing them with pencils and felt-pens. once done with the editing I scanned all the pages and digitally cut them in their original proportions, imported in premiere and created my frame by frame hand-drawn animation.
✺ the second act is about the Great Flood.

The idea for this video comes from a cheap book about conspiracy and apocalypses I found home some years ago.
in the book it is showed how many different prophecies have been written through the history of humankind, and somehow, we are still here treating the world around us like shit and exploiting it. I wish a very kind collapse of the human-kind to us all!
✺ the third act is about an asteroid smashing into the Earth.

The sound design is curated by @giulia__mattavelli .

🌟 step 1 🌟: infila 1300 perline su un sottilissimo filo nero di cotone (di una matassa infinita che arriva da qualche nonna di qualcunx)
🪻step 2🪻: lavora il tuo poncho per giorni facendo scorrere di continuo quel migliaglio di perline per poter avere abbastanza filato per uncinettare
🍒 step 3 🍒: finiscilo il prima possibile prima di perdere la testa

Esistono città che si lasciano attraversare in superficie: strade, monumenti, itinerari consigliati dalle guide. E poi esistono le altre città: quelle che si rivelano solo a chi sa dove guardare, quelle che pulsano nei cortili interni, nei locali senza insegna, nei collettivi che si riuniscono in spazi rubati al margine. Quir e Ora nasce da un’idea semplice e radicale: ogni comunità queer riscrive la geografia del luogo in cui abita.

Ogni numero di questo magazine è dedicato a una città. Non ne racconta l’architettura o i ristoranti: esplora le sue sottoculture queer, i luoghi che le hanno generate, le persone e i collettivi che le tengono vive. Parla con chi organizza, crea, resiste. Entra negli spazi che non compaiono sulle mappe di Google. Documenta ciò che rischia di scomparire e ciò che sta nascendo adesso.
