The tasting menu at @freyjamelbourne

Of course I splurged on all the extras #treatyoself

Can't make more time, but I can make more money. Some experiences are just worth it. Dining in front of an open kitchen was like witnessing a less chaotic, less swear-y episode of The Bear. Amazing food, great wine pairings. Well worth the visit. by @a.alex.89

August was a devastatingly difficult month for my family and I. Pop has been fighting dementia and a raft of other health issues over the years, and he finally lost the battle. We said our formal goodbyes this week but the process of grief is a drawn out one. Grateful I was able to see him in his final hours in this world. He got so close to his goal of 90!

Pop was a much loved husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great uncle, brother etc to all his extended family. To me he was a supportive rock, he was there in some incredibly difficult moments of my life. Always had something cheeky, or profound, to say. Held a keen interest in my life's twists and turns. Taught me that the rewards for hard work always outweight the effort.

TEAM WORLD

What an experience to rep the flag at the home of the NFL at the Hall of Fame Stadium.

I got to do this alongside some of my best friends, teammates, and new friends from around the world.

I met some of the best people continuing to drive women's football.

I shared a TD celebration on the biggest stage.

It was great to just be a player again (let's not talk about the stress of coordinating bringing 20 Aussies across the world!) and do my thing at right guard, holding my own against some of the best Dline players I've gone up against.

Onto the next! by @a.alex.89

Crossed through 5 states and nearly 1500kms (900 freedom units) in 3 days. I covered a pretty scenic track through the Natchez Trace Parkway and found a lot of interesting things along the way.

Travel gives you moments you want to live in forever. It doesn't need to be the most conspicious of times or events. Sometimes its the right thing, at the right moment, with the right people. And you don't see the "right" coming. But when you're in it, you know it.

The scoreboard didn't reflect the effort, heart and hustle of this team.

From the start we decided it was important the goal was not winning a championship, but ensuring the growth of individual players to continue to grow the league.

In terms of team morale and comraderie, the campaign was a success - players even went as far to get permanent reminders tattooed of the trip to WA.

The inside jokes, the cultivated friendships, watching the growth of the talent in the state, seeing people becoming more comfortable in their own skin and around others - the success isn't tangible, and you can't understand it until you're in the thick of it.

Football is fun. It's why I continue to do what I do.

Onto the next. by @a.alex.89

Took a week off for ANZAC Day. Caught up with a bunch of people special to me over the week/weekend, ended it on a little trip out with Mr Ragnar.

Fulfilled. Refreshed. Restored. Ready for so many adventures, travel, and work ahead.

2026 isn't slowing down any time soon.

A random selection of 2025.

Two football championships.
Two trips to Sydney.
One epic Vietnam/Cambodia adventure.
Many drinks consumed.
Many more laughs had.

Thanks to those who made it epic. by @a.alex.89

About the other weekend...

3peat with the @baysideravens
2nd year OC

Thank you to the team for an amazing season, but especially @julianmartinezbowles and @gerard_comedy for continuing to help develop my coaching to continue greatness in the years to come.

Women's football continues to grow in QLD, and will continue to chase opportunities as a player for the next few years until the knees quit on me.
