San Francisco June ‘26.
Images taken by tiny Kodak Charmera.

I really like their grainy quality & how the camera simplifies shapes with its low pixels.

An Artist Is Not a Moon – They Call Forth and Require Rhizomes is a 50 min lecture-performance constructed with two distinctive voices used by a single performer: an academic tone evocative of an essay, and a performer who re-enacts letters written between artists with theatre-like exaggeration.

It was first performed on October 29, 2025. Its second edition was performed on March 30, 2026. Its third iteration functions in a book format (image 3).

The performance unfolds through three “peaks”: friends and collaborators of Leigh Bowery remembering him 25 years after his death; Sol LeWitt’s letter to Eva Hesse that influenced a groundbreaking year in her practice; and Mark Rothko’s letter to Lee Krasner expressing his regard for Jackson Pollock.

These peaks are introduced by artist essays and situated within a wider network of artist relationships, emphasizing that artists are not siloed—they exist in community, shaped by others who influence them and co-create the work through these connections.

Through many names being mentioned, writings, thoughts, and artworks, the performance offers a glimpse into contemporary and avant-garde artistic rhizomes. It explores conflicting perceptions of art, its definitions, manifesto-like declarations, and the human desires that run through it all.

Thanks to @infiniteregress.world @premameanslove and @crumbledethump for documenting

wounded core of loving a woman – not as a sister – unrequitedly, is close to universal.

The past few months have been intense but good, lots of work, new skills & connections. I’ll be sharing somethings but incongruent with their timelines of happening just because I’m more inspiration-led over keeping memories organized 💋

In late April we went to NM, where I attended an Adobe Architecture workshop, taught by @jokeanelopez & Helen Levine.

Sharing some pictures from that sweet time together under the strong sun 🌞
Also : found out there how much I love arches.

Thank you to everyone who attended & added to the learning. It was a very special group of people doing good work in sustainability, agriculture, accessibility learning, being visionaries and artists…

Much love & let’s play with mud more soon,

11 days ago Premananda completed another sojourn around the ☀️!

These photographs are from last October and since then we both changed a bit but they’re still so sweet and worth making visible 🌸

Happiest of birthdays to @premameanslove. May this year be wholly best, better than all combined thus far ✨
This wild world is better because of your presence in it, your environmental and spiritual scholarship, the circles of connections you’ve formed around you, the visions you hold and protect within yourself.

☝️Anyone readings this👆 - chip into the belated bday blessings & wishes 💋

Travel is getting expensive these days but we snagged this 5 day vacation for under 600 dollars per person (including round trip flights from Washington DC to San Salvador!)

We @expeditionahimsa are travel advisors who curate budget and luxury itineraries to perfection so you just need to show up and experience. One number for all your travel needs.

These shots were all from📍El Zonte Beach except for the last which was from our time in downtown San Salvador.

𝘽𝙚𝙩𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙏𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙡
MFA First Year Show

🗓️February 9 - 26, 2026
📍The Herman Maril Gallery

We’re excited to introduce 𝗔𝗻𝗱ż𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗮 𝗪. 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗸𝗼’s work, featured in ✨𝘽𝙚𝙩𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙏𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙡.✨

𝗔𝗻𝗱ż𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗮 𝗪. 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗸𝗼 is a Polish-born interdisciplinary artist working primarily with embodiment-adjacent and time-based mediums. She has lived in Poland, the Middle East, and the United States, and is currently based in Washington, D.C., where she works as an artist, spiritual and art educator, and has spent the past five years engaged in crisis counseling and somatic healing. Berestko received her BFA from The Cooper Union in 2022. Her work has been presented at the Foundation Building Galleries of Cooper Union, Anthology Film Archives, and Museum of Modern Art.

Berestko’s work centers on cultural formation, the instability of the archive, and ritual. Attentive to the frailties of memory and the gaps they produce in cultural documentation, she studies the uneven, evolving nature of ethnic inheritance, particularly as it unfolds within immigrant domestic spaces where multiple languages converge. A sustained focus on death-related practices shapes her work, exploring the liminality of objects and presence, communal orientations toward mourning, and the opacities that obscure experiences of passing. Her recent work examines incense as an olfactory conduit between tangible and subtle realms and ways in which monuments can bring visibility to those absent and suffering. taken in Herman Maril Gallery by @a.berestko

Made it to Egypt. Met a lot of sweet people and a lot of industrious salesmen 😅. Surprised how much like Delhi, Cairo felt. And so grateful for all the vegan treats we’ve found throughout Egypt. We will definitely be back with @expeditionahimsa by @a.berestko
