For the last week or so I’ve contemplated whether or not to post this. I guess writing this makes it feel all more real. But I know facing it is a part of healing. The last three years have been the hardest years for myself and my family. We faced so much. Through it all, we held on to the truth that “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1). Even in the hardest moments, His strength carried me when mine was gone. I was born my dad’s daughter, became his next of kin and point of contact for everything, and now I must find who I am without him. Dad, I promise to make you proud. The lessons you taught me will stay with me, and my future children will know you through the stories I tell.
And when I don’t understand why things had to happen this way, I rest in knowing “Great is our Lord and mighty in power; His understanding has no limit” (Psalm 147:5). God knows all, and that brings me peace.
Forever in our minds and on our hearts.
I love you, Daddy — you’ve been promoted to glory. 🩵

To anyone reading this:
Whatever you’re going through right now, know that God sees you. He understands your pain even when words fail, and he’s working things out in ways you can’t yet see. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5–6).
Just hold on, he knows best, and his timing is always perfect. by @a.bruno__
