Greetings Black Millennials 🤲🏽🙌🏽❤️   You are cordially invited to a dissertation study that explores the experiences of religious trauma among Black millennials in Black church settings. Some factors that can contribute to religious trauma include spiritual abuse, spiritual bypass, and church hurt. This study will examine the current issues faced by Black millennials within the institution of the Black church, their lived experiences within Black church settings, and how they are creating spiritual and religious communities outside of traditional religious institutions. Participants of all gender identities, sexual identities, and denominations are encouraged to participate.  If you believe you or someone you know meets the eligibility criteria, we invite you to take a short screening demographic questionnaire, which takes approximately 7-10 minutes to complete. Moments when they may feel their poor planning constitutes an emergency on your part. Truth is, most people struggle with focusing on really matters. For this reason, you must focus on the task at hand.  Understand—it’s better to execute one task efficiently than do multiple tasks poorly. As different tasks arise, you must discern which tasks are yours to resolve vs those you must relegate to someone else. Career is probably one of our biggest differences. He’s using his mind and hands as a self-employed electrician and I’m using my mind and hands to be a counselor educator. We’ve seen each other go through seasons of immense success, challenges, and conflict. Even when disagreements have come up, we’ve differed without being dishonorable.   Sometimes, all we have is our word and our name, which is why both must be honorable. How we honor others is a direct reflection of how we honor ourselves. While she was proud of those credentials and the credentials to come, what she really valued was our relationship as mother and son. The value of having a son become a man that she is proud of beyond public success—that’s a true treasure.    Cherish the people that you create memories with. Treat each moment as a timeless snapshot that ages well.
