It’s been ten days since my album came out. The more I listen to them, the more its songs feel to me not like an account of my own life, but that of several others. They serve as the only access I have left to those people, versions of myself, temporal parts lost to time but not to sound. But if I can look on them as telling the story of another, and yet still find myself in them, I have hope that you may as well. To find yourself through someone else’s song is something which has allowed me to discover both what makes me truly alive and more and more that I’m a part of humanity.

Creating this album almost alone was a process that lacked really any confirmation that a single thing I was doing was right. What I’d like to believe is that its honesty is the only condition. Of course, I didn’t do it alone. No person can create art detached from others and the world. And so I thank everyone and everything that has shaped my life over the last two years in which these songs came to be.

Anything: November 2, 2024 I wrote this song while back home in London, something which happens less and less often, a couple of days before the presidential election

Little Cross: December 22, 2024 A shot from the music video, in the mountains where I’d written the song exactly a year before

Paper Plate: April 22, 2024 Columbia’s entrance during the encampments, the week I wrote the song, the night of a full moon

Half-Man: October 5, 2024 The first time I performed this song with @gabrieladmcbride , whose own musical journey and songs inspired me to write so many of these

There Is A Time: June 22, 2025 Driving back from Ohio, the road trip where @_pieromancer_ introduced me to the song

Only Remembering: May 16, 2025 Inside the Musée de Cluny in Paris, where I was born, before humming the melody into my phone

Introduction To The End: April 23, 2022 Sunset from a London bus, on a high school weekend after I recorded the song on a whim

Let Me Sleep: February 20, 2025 Performing the song on a cold winter’s night @the.music.inn

What I Want: November 27, 2024 In Richmond, where I wrote the guitar riff in @emmacburris little brother’s room. Without Emma, none of this would exist. by @a.fed.stock

‘Let Me Sleep’ is a bit all over the place. The song is about a dream, a dream that never happened, but a dream that’s scared it’s actually real. It will be out on April 4th. I’m very glad to finally have had @gabi.mcbride provide some wonderful vocals and some gentle viola plucks to one of my songs. As always, you may presave it in my bio, and I look forward to any of you giving it a listen. If you do, I think more than my other songs you will find a part of myself that’s truly vulnerable. My next song ‘Paper Plate’ comes out on the 14th. This one is about faith, really in anything. We all have something we believe in, and it’s so easy for others to tear it down. Sometimes we do it ourselves. This song goes back to my earliest memories of that. I hope you will find it strangely comforting to know that everyone’s world is fragile, but that we should have respect for the fact we manage to keep it standing.
