Channeled my spirit animal with @caramia • Feeling refreshed and inspired after spending the weekend in Salt Lake with my favorite photographer. I made it a goal this year to invest in myself, my business, and push myself creatively. That meant making my brain uncomfortable, spending time in another land, among interesting people who do things differently than I, because distance and difference is the key to creativity. Order takeout to the photoshoot location and ask all the family to come. Let the kids play and be a bit wild and let the grandparents feel the measure of your love and admiration. Fuss over them. :) We’ll get that “everybody looking at the camera” picture because it’s an heirloom. And then we’ll get a whole set of little stories frozen in the details. As I look back on 2025, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for the growth, trust, and creative opportunities this year brought.

From 25 projects signed entirely through word of mouth, to designing homes and spaces across the country, to building a studio team for the very first time — this year stretched me, refined me, and reminded me why I love this work so deeply.

I pushed myself creatively, traveled to learn and stay inspired, collaborated with incredible architects and brands, and brought long-held dreams to life. Behind the scenes, I also focused on building stronger systems and processes so the work — and the experience — continues to feel intentional, elevated, and deeply personal.

None of this happens alone. I’m endlessly thankful for my clients, collaborators, industry friends, and team who trusted the vision and helped shape what this studio is becoming.

Meet Amy Scott, founder and owner of A.JO SCOTT DESIGN ⁠

“My love of creating began as a child, where I spent my days getting messy in oil paints, drawing custom floor plans (at the age of 10), making jewelry and getting my hands into anything and everything I could. Over the years, my love for art has grown and evolved in many ways, through photography, advertising, graphic design and textiles.”⁠
⁠
After 10 years of working creatively as a producer with major brands in the advertising industry, owning her own photography business, and studying interior design, this path led Amy to find her calling as an Interior Designer. ⁠Working on projects coast to coast including NC, Hawaii and Michigan has brought a whole new level of creativity and growth as a designer. ⁠

“It’s allowed me to combine my past, and love of all things visual, while expanding into the spatial world of unique experiences.”⁠
⁠
Amy lives in beautiful Coeur d’Alene with her husband and kids where they love spending time on the lake and outdoors in northern Idaho.
