A winter warmer for you 🍜

I rarely get the opportunity to share music that I truly and deeply love. An endless thanks must go to @hannah.d.__ for the chance to contribute to @tsbu__ . You are a pillar of the melbourne scene and someone I’ve drawn countless amounts of inspiration from.

I did this one solely for myself, a slow build up of some of my favourite dubby, deep and sexy tech, endlessly rolling goodness. Always grateful for any opportunity to share music, but this one feels extra special. What a pleasure it was to do. Hope you like it <33 by @a.mbedo_

Our next mix is courtesy of ambedo, otherwise known as Jimmy. As the co-founder of the Deuce party series alongside Charlie, their parties facilitate spaces for femme, BIPOC, queer and gender-diverse communities - and aim to give back to the environments that shaped them. Jimmy is a versatile DJ who isn’t constrained by genre but more by mood and feeling. This mix is a testament to this, as Jimmy takes us through an hour and a half of deep, sultry, dubby selections. Thanks Jimmy for this lovely mix ❤️ @a.mbedo_ by @a.mbedo_

Our first mix of 2026 comes courtesy of Naarm-based @a.mbedo_ delivering the seventh chapter of the Basement Beats Mix series.

A slow-building, tension-driven and hypnotic journey, the mix showcases Ambedo’s ability to move fluidly across a breadth of extra-terrestrial sounds while channeling the otherworldly spirit of the label. by @a.mbedo_

Welcoming, ambedo ✨

12 - 1:30am

Good friend and someone I’m completely in awe of when he’s in the booth, ambedo floors me every-time with his selections 🔮

Moving along the outer edges of club
convention—drawn to the deep, the dubby, and the strange… ambedo, a Naarm-based DJ, radio host and co-founder of Deuce Events. His sound resists easy definition, drifting through low-slung rhythm, shadowy percussion, and warped, off-centre club mutations. Equally shaped by late-night basements and early morning bush stages, ambedo’s range stretches wide - techno, breaks, dub, ambient, bass—but always anchored by mood and restraint. His sets unfold with patience, favouring slow tension over obvious peaks, and tapping into something murky, physical, and hypnotic.

He’s shared lineups with artists including Roi
Perez, Kia, Adam Pits, Guy Contact, and Lisene, and has played across some of Naarm’s most iconic rooms including Sub Club, Xe54, The Gasometer, and Glamorama. His sound flexes to its setting, but never dilutes—immersive, unpredictable, and deeply
felt.

Through Deuce, ambedo co-creates space for femme, BIPOC, queer and gender-diverse artists, continuing to nurture the community that shaped him. His presence behind the decks is low-key but unmistakable - building strange little worlds that pull you in and don’t let go.

I absolutely can’t wait to see him do his thing on the 14th 🛸

Tickets on sale from Monday via Moshtix.
If you are struggling financially, please reach out and I will do my best to help you out 💖

i’m crawling back out of the woodwork for one gig this weekend, at this place called sub club. apparently sub club is this rly niche underground club with a pretty impressive sound system that’s the kind of sound system that makes it feel like the music is coming from inside your own body. i think that’s pretty crazy. it’s not too dissimilar i’ve heard from this club in berlin, called pano bar??? that’s panorama bar to you. or berghain if you’re nasty. apparently meant to be a hugely famous club where rly good dj’s play rly good music to rly good dancers. oh look at that! one of those rly good dj’s is roi perez, it’s been told he plays there pretty often??? almost as if he’s one of those rly good dj’s that plays rly good music to rly good dancers rly often??? a resident if you will. that’s so crazy i’m on the same lineup as him! so maybe you should like buy a ticket or something so that you can maybe like idk, be one of those rly good dancers that rly good dj’s play rly good music to. but this time it’s at sub club. in melbourne. so like you don’t even have to go to germany. ok bye. by @a.mbedo_

Club Elevate Selects: Charlotte Rooney & Ambedo ✨

How lucky are we to have these two sonic soulmates teaming up once again?

Two of our cities staples in @char.rooney & @a.mbedo_ deliver sounds of liquid psychedelia, 90s tech-house, progressive house and trance.

Their influence on each other has been the catalyst behind the birth of the renowned @deucevents label. This platform, born out of love and mutual respect, dedicates it ethos to uplifting femme, POC, queer and gender non-confirming artists, giving back to the communities that have inspired them and our dance music scene today.

We simply cannot wait to have these two join us, be ready.
