A look back on the origin of CASUAL’s logo from Mimasu Studio: @a.mimasu & @leomimasu ✨ Casual is a “Third Space”, a blank canvas - a space for culture to breathe, stretch out its limbs, live and dance (& drink). With such a beautiful environment and two unique sound systems in Hong Kong - this is the perfect spot for music lovers of all types to come together and also engage in a world of other activities. It will be a statement for intersectionality and the convergence of the many facets that make up our every day culture and scene. Taking the key characteristic features of the iconic speaker design as the main concept for this direction. How can the two simple intersecting circles become part of a greater visual identity. A few different symbolism and meanings come to mind. As a further extension of the intersecting logo circles - bringing this into a unique illustration style. Not only is this a unique character but it also invites a visual system where each layer adds to the meaning. The idea is to have the characters non-descript and fluid form reflect the various contexts. The eye’s shapes and positioning remains roughly the same, while the rest is flexible and adaptable to the context. by @a.mimasu
