Cotton candy বা বুড়ির চুল, ছোটবেলায় বাড়ির সামনের রাস্তা দিয়ে ঠাকুর ঘরের ঘণ্টার মতন ঘণ্টা বাজাতে বাজাতে যেত। বহু বছর তারা আর যায় না। এখন এদের দেখতে পাই কখনো মেলায়, কখনো দূরে কোথাও গেলে। রথের দিন, শ্রীরামপুর থেকে থেকে বাড়ি ফিরছিলাম, বেশ রাত করে।
ভেন্ডরে উঠেছিলাম। দেখি উনি চার-পাঁচটা বেঁচে যাওয়া বুড়ির চুল নিয়ে বাড়ি ফিরছেন।
ছেলেবেলার স্মৃতিকে টোস্ট করে কুড়ি টাকা দিয়ে কিনে নিলাম একটা। সম্পূর্ণটা শেষ করা যথেষ্টই কষ্টকর ছিল -অতি মিষ্টি আর দুহাত প্রচণ্ড চটচট করছিল, কিন্তু ভেতরের 'ছোট্ট অভি' নির্ঘাত খুশি হয়েছিল বৈকি!

Whenever I watched "Angel" from X-Men with his giant wings as a kid, I was super fascinated by the prospect of flying. I always wanted to fly. I still want to fly. Somewhere I also wanted to have my own pair of wings, but as I grew up I realized the laws of nature do not allow that.

Years later I am noticing a pair of muscles on my back that resembled a pair of wings, although not that of a mighty bird. It looked oddly similar to that of a butterfly, a swallowtail butterfly to be specific. Something I found to be a cute gesture by the same nature.

Since then I have developed the technique of flying in my own mind through reading about the world and beyond; so in a way I got both?

ছোটবেলা থেকেই আমার মা জলের পোকা।
স্কুল কলেজ জীবনে নিজেদের পুকুর আর এখন গঙ্গা। আমাকে ছোটবেলা থেকে মা বারবার গঙ্গায় যেতে বলত, মায়ের সঙ্গে। আমার ইচ্ছে করত না। মনে হত জল নোংরা।

এখন আমি মাসে দু-তিনবার তো যাইই, যদিও আমিও জলের পোকাই ছিলাম। কারণ, সমুদ্রে গেলে চার ঘন্টা জলেই থাকতাম। তো, এটা আমার জীবনের একটা অন্তরঙ্গ অঙ্গ হয়ে উঠেছে এই নদী জীবন।

I have always found it productive to look up at the sky. At times when I have found myself incompetent to socialize or bond with other members of the society, I have found a silent yet potent friendship with the up-above.
With time and Maya however, I have looked down, perhaps way down, but still from time to time when I am having the occasion to look up, I still find that old connection being there.
Perhaps after decades when I will finally retire, and I'll have a moment of peace to look up and meet my old friend, and we'll have a chatter about how my life's chronicles played out as quietly observed by the old universe, and we will smile at smirk at each other, knowing when the time comes we will be reunited. 🌌 by @a.nan.dan

ছেলেবেলা থেকেই জল খুব প্রিয়।

যেখানেই গেছি, জলে নেমে পড়েছি। দিঘা-পুরীর সমুদ্র হোক, পাহাড়ে তিস্তা নদীর শাখা নদী হোক, বাড়ির পাশে গঙ্গায় তো নামতেই থাকি। প্রায় সমস্ত অভিজ্ঞতাই সাঁতার না জেনেই, সাঁতার শিখলাম এই বছর দুই হলো, সেটাও বাড়ির কাছের গঙ্গাতেই।

এক্ষেত্রে জলঙ্গী। অভিরূপের সঙ্গে বেশ কয়েকবার কৃষ্ণনগর যখন গেছি, জলঙ্গীর ধারে ঘুরতে গিয়ে মনে হয়েছে, এই নদীতে স্নান করলে কেমন লাগবে? শুনেছি, গঙ্গার থেকে বেশ আলাদা। জল পরিষ্কার, হালকা নীলচে আভা।

সম্প্রতি সেই আকাঙ্ক্ষা পূরণ হলো। নদীয়ার গ্রাম-বাংলার স্বাদ সত্যি যেন আলাদা, একটু বেশি মিষ্টি।

গত ২৪ মে একাডেমি অফ ফাইন আর্টসে অনুষ্ঠিত হয় রবীন্দ্রসঙ্গীতের অনুষ্ঠান 'এ ঘোর ধূলি আবরণ'। সঙ্গীতে ছিলেন রাহুল মিত্র ও সুদেষ্ণা মিত্র।

অনুষ্ঠানের প্রারম্ভিক-এ ছিলাম আমি, অংশটির রচয়িতা রাহুল মিত্র।

২০২৩ সাল থেকে রাহুলদার প্রায় সবকটি অনুষ্ঠানের প্রারম্ভিক বা সূচনাপাঠগুলি করার অভিজ্ঞতা আমার হয়েছে, যা আমার কাছে এক বিশেষ প্রাপ্তি।

এই প্রত্যেকটি লেখা ওঁর নিজের এবং তাঁর প্রত্যেকটি অনুষ্ঠানের brochure গুলো, নিজেই এক-একটি শিল্পকাজ। সেই brochure এর মধ্যেই এই লেখাগুলি শ্রোতা-পাঠকের উদ্দেশে তাকিয়ে থাকে।

অনুষ্ঠানের এই বিকেল ও সন্ধ্যাগুলি আমার কাছে বছরের অন্যতম আনন্দস্মৃতি। সেটাই ভাগ করে নিলাম তোমাদের সঙ্গে।

I have at my disposal some fortunate lighting from time to time, a decent phone camera (or two) and my absurd visions that I sometimes successfully battle my laziness to manifest.

There is a fulfilling taste of satisfaction when what I am thinking somehow appears on the screen, which even I don't know how I made it possible, truly creating is a process of co-creating with probability. You are surprised as much. by @a.nan.dan

গতকাল আমাদের অনুষ্ঠান ছিল 'এ ঘোর ধুলি-আবরণ'। আমার তৃতীয় বছর এই অনুষ্ঠানগুলোর সঙ্গে আর রাহুলদা'র তিনশো পঞ্চাশতম অনুষ্ঠান, যদি আমি ভুল না হয়ে থাকি।

যখন প্রথম দাঁড়িয়েছিলাম, সম্ভবত গোলপার রামকৃষ্ণ মিশনের মঞ্চে, তখন আমার যে তীব্র nervousness ছিল, সেটা এখন সেভাবে অনুভব হয় না। যে অবিশ্বাস্য এবং অবাক লাগতো সব কিছু, এখন সেই মঞ্চগুলোকে আমার নিজের মনে হয়।
পারবো কি পারবো না, যে ভীতি থাকতো, তা এখনও হয়তো স্বল্প আছে; তার সঙ্গে আনন্দও হয়, উত্তেজনাও হয়।

এবং হয়ে যাওয়ার শেষে তো সেই পরীক্ষা দিয়ে বেরোবার যে আনন্দ, এবং বাকি অনুষ্ঠান—রাহুলদার গান, সুদেষ্ণাদির গান, বাকিদের পাঠ, music শুনে শান্ত হওয়ার পালা। এই সবকিছু নিয়েই গতকাল বিকেলেও একটা বেশ আনন্দের সময় কাটলো, যারা আমার ডাকে এসেছিলেন, আমাদের দেখা সাক্ষাৎ হলো, তাদেরকে আমার ভালোবাসা।

আর এই অনুষ্ঠানগুলিতে যেন আমরা সবাই reunion উজাপ্পন করি—রাহুলদা, সুদেষ্ণাদি, আমি, অভিরূপ, বাকিরা যাঁরা আছেন, যাঁদের দেখে আমি মঞ্চে ওঠার ভরসা পাই।

আমি এই অনুষ্ঠানগুলোর জন্য বিশেষ করে অপেক্ষা করে থাকি, এই দিন গুলো আমার জীবনের একটা অন্যতম আনন্দের স্মৃতি হয়ে থাকবে। তাতে কোন সন্দেহ নেই!
