@goodhomesmagazine Perched high above the city’s skyline, this 1,450sqft, three-bedroom apartment by Monil Parekh, principal designer of Studio M and M reimagines luxury through warmth rather than extravagance. Designed for a family of four, the home is anchored by uninterrupted sea views, with every material chosen to soften the experience of high-rise living.

The living room sets a calm tone with soft neutrals, warm dark timber, and sculptural furnishings. In the kitchen, dark stained ash cabinetry recedes into the background, letting an expressive green stone countertop and island stand out as the home’s one deliberate pop of colour. At the centre, the dining area uses a curved banquette and circular table to encourage conversation, framed by a backdrop of handcrafted bronze ceramic tiles.

A contemporary mandir, clad in soft pastel Blue Calcite marble, integrates spirituality into the home’s everyday rhythm, while a monochrome powder room offers a moment of sculptural drama. Each bedroom reflects its occupant, from the son’s dark, cinematic suite to the daughter’s calmer space lifted by green tiles and fittings.

Throughout, restraint and craftsmanship, not ornament, define the home.

Designed for a family spanning three generations, Inherited Rhythms is a home shaped around the distinct personalities, lifestyles and memories of those who inhabit it. Rather than imposing a singular design language across the residence, the interiors allow each generation to find its own expression while remaining connected through a cohesive material and spatial vocabulary.

The home brings together contemporary forms and a strong sense of Indian craft and nostalgia. In the living room, warm timber, soft neutral upholstery and handcrafted details come together to create a space that feels contemporary yet familiar, with traditional elements woven subtly into everyday living.
