If you haven’t already heard me talking about him incessantly, today is my one year anniversary with my wonderful wonderful partner. Sooooo, I’m gonna have to get a little cheesy for a moment (and no one can stop me).

Owen, you are truly one of the best things to ever happen to me. This time last year, the idea of such a long-term committed relationship would have, frankly, given me an anxiety attack. For so long I was so afraid of relying on others, of asking for help, of being truly vulnerable and intimate, and letting the people I love and care about care for me. I wish I could say it was easy, that we met and I knew you were ‘the one’ and all the walls came crashing down. But that simply isn’t how my brain works. Learning to love and trust someone the way I do with you, was, and is, terrifying. Accepting uncertainty and choosing to move forward despite the possible negative outcomes. I don’t know what the future holds, honestly usually I try not to think about it. Regardless, I can’t wait to spend every moment, dark or bright, big or small, happy or sad, with you by my side. Loving you is my greatest privilege. Happy anniversary, I can’t wait for the many more. by @a.rlomikkel
