To Spelman and my Sisters,

Thank you for being the place to break generational curses. As a first-generation college student, it was never easy, and it started out shaky, but thank you for helping me realize my potential and allowing me to grow as a young Black Woman in this world.
Thank you for the constant support and Black excellence that pushed me to go farther. For the past four years I have been surround by trailblazers who made a choice to change the world, and will go on to do just that. We have made lifelong friendships and bonds that will forever hold a special place in my heart. This is not goodbye, but see you later and see you at the top🩵🤞🏾

To my Family,

Grateful doesn’t begin to describe my feelings for the unwavering support. I don’t think any of this would be possible without your love, guidance, and sacrifices. Being called “Ms. Spelman” for the last four years held some heavyweight and you all never failed to let me know how proud you were and that I was doing something great. To my parents, one of the main reasons I work as hard as I do, thank you for helping me believe that I can follow my dreams no matter the obstacles I face. Thank you for being my number one fans my entire life and always sticking by my side. Thank you for instilling in me that I can do anything as long as I walk with God❤️

To Myself,

I am so proud of the person you have become. From a little girl with big dreams to the young woman making them happen. I am proud of you for trusting God and never giving up no matter how impossible it seemed or how hard it got. Never stop reaching for the stars and being a role model the younger generation.

As they say, “You can always tell a Spelman Woman, but you can’t tell her much.”😉

This Summer I was blessed with the honor and privilege of interning with the Congressional Black Caucus in the office of Congresswoman Emilia Strong Sykes representing Ohio’s 13th district! This has been such an amazing experience and I am so grateful for the friendships, connections, and knowledge that I gained❤️ God is amazing and opened so many doors, and I am excited to see what the future has in store👏🏾😁 taken in Capitol Hill - Washington, DC by @a.ross__
