Obligatory 2025 recap post🌻💛 💐~ I spent this year basically doing what I want to do forever, aka: saw lots of beautiful places & read a ton of beautiful books.

(In no particular order) these are the books that changed me this year:

Fiction:
🌟Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid
🌟Spectacular Things by Beck Dorey-Stein
🌟Heart the Lover by Lily King
🌟Buckeye by Patrick Ryan
🌟The Correspondent by Virginia Evans
🌟The Names by Florence Knapp
🌟Loved One by Aisha Muharrar
🌟The Favorites by Layne Fargo

Romance/YA:
🌟First Time Caller by BK Borison
🌟Audre & Bash Are Just Friends by Tia Williams
🌟What Happens in Amsterdam by Rachel Lynn Solomon
🌟Promise Me Sunshine by Cara Bastone
🌟The Rival by Emma Lord
🌟Truth Is by Hanna Sawyerr
🌟Overdue by Stephanie Perkins by @a.very.fast.reader

Putting this one on your radar since ‘tis the szn for bookstore gift cards! I’m in LOVE with this book.

Read Overdue by Stephanie Perkins if you like:

💛bookish protagonists who work in a library
💛chaotic, silly, lost in life, relatable late 20s protagonist
💛 friends to lovers, of course, my fave
💛YA vibes, coming of age, in the Adult lit world
💛 Emily Henry style banter by @a.very.fast.reader

One of my favorite books of the year without a doubt. 😭❤️

Heart the Lover has a quiet plot with unbelievably memorable characters. I read this a month ago & am still thinking about them. 🥹💗💘 This book explores the real, raw, vulnerable and messy parts of finding and losing yourself in relationships at a young age, and the blurred lines between platonic & romantic love.

Highly rec for fans of contemporary literary fiction about complicated characters navigating change in adulthood ~ The Wedding People, Blue Sisters, The Idiot. by @a.very.fast.reader

POV: you walk into my apartment & I respectfully force you to admire my 🌟favorites🌟bookshelf, and listen to my emotional reactions & in depth analysis for each of my fave reads !!!

(Leave it to me to have found an apartment with a built-in bookshelf) lol 📚🥰 by @a.very.fast.reader

When I moved back to LA spontaneously at the beginning of the year I promised myself I’d romanticize this city the same way I always have with NYC! Which is incredibly easy to do when my afternoons look like this now. 📚☀️🏃🏻‍♀️

Recent fall reads on loop in my brain:
📚The Names by Florence Knapp
📚All The Way to the River by Elizabeth Gilbert
📚The Tenant by Freida McFadden

*none of these are light, but I can’t stop thinking about them!* I needed a lil rom com break for the fall vibes.🤷🏻‍♀️🍂🍃

NEXT UP:
☀️The Wilderness by Angela Flournoy
☀️Heart the Lover by Lily King by @a.very.fast.reader

This is your reminder that if you’re a Summer I Turned Pretty fan, you can fill your heart with SO MANY romances with similar vibes!!!!!!

Second-chance romance // childhood friends-to-lovers ✨ ✨ ✨ forever my fave romance tropes of all time 💞 🥰 🔥 by @a.very.fast.reader

Only thing better than sunburned beach summer reading? Cozy couch rotting fall reading!!!! 🍂🍃 by @a.very.fast.reader

Just so happened to have read exclusively phenomenal books in August and I am not complaining about it. It’s all thanks to that salt air.

Highly rec these ones for my fellow character-driven, relationship-focused, no-plot-just-vibes loving readers!!!!

Spectacular Things by Beck Dorey-Stein
LA Woman by Ella Berman
The Compound by Aisling Rawle by @a.very.fast.reader
