This weekend I had the pleasure of visiting @criterioncollection’s closet! What a dream! 🥹My film picks included: ⭑ Cleo from 5 to 7 (1962) by Agnès Varda⭑ Sweetie (1989) by Jane Campion⭑ Dazed and Confused (1993) by Richard Linklater (honorable mention)((it was so tough to choose only x3 films and I lowkey blanked when speaking about them lmaoo.. so i’ll leave my real cinephile thoughts below😉))Cleo is such a classic and Varda is such a bad*ss and creative thinker who was so far ahead of the game.Sweetie rewired my brain when it came to how I approach photography (framing and composition) in films and how it drastically informs the minds of the characters and the literal world surrounding them.Dazed is such a good feeling film, and I love how messy and nostalgic it feels. Truly the definition of any story can be made with a little bit of spontaneity and a lot of passion. Preserving physical media is so vital to our art, in a time where everything is rapidly transcending the digital world. The folks at Criterion are seriously historians mastering the art of archiving not just films but the work that goes into creating these masterpieces. Some of the work that has changed the way we approach filmmaking, the world and ultimately humanity.Real movies y’all. Not remakes, not studio cashgrabs.. REAL ORIGINAL FILMS.This was not just a visit to the closet but in honor of their 40th Anniversary they brought the world of Wes Anderson to life at the @hollywoodbowl. This activation included the screening of Wes’s feature films, short films, and a live orchestra performed the original scores and music within his films. Incredible. @reclaimedinc x @thenorthface Simultaneously modeling, producing and art directing on-location in Big Bear for a day shoot was insane. On top of that it was day one of cycle😭.
