As part of a graduate course I am currently taking in digital storytelling we were asked to create a 5 minute long piece of either fiction or documentary.

Having had the idea of recording my father’s childhood memories for years now, I took this as an opportunity to do just that.

Echoes from the Nakba: A Childhood in Beit Safafa is a short documentary built around an interview I conducted with my father, in which he recounts elements of his childhood.

The actual interview lasted over 50 minutes and so to meet the requirements of the project I had to trim a lot of information out. I’ll plan to work on an extended version but for now I’d appreciate any advice or feedback you may have to give me. by @a7mad.oth

Hills, lakes and Swiss architecture.

Some shots are recent some date back to 2017 😆 just needed to start playing around with lightroom to see what I can do with it. Tried going for more of a film look with these (hence the added grain) and thought they’d go well as a set.

Happy with them and even happier with the process. InshAllah I’ll look back at these in a couple years and see the progress since.
