October begins with meaning. 🧡
Today marks the start of Dyslexia Awareness Month—and this year, it also marks the beginning of a very special celebration for A.D.E.

For FIVE years, we’ve audaciously dared to educate, advocate, create access, amplify families, and make room for unique minds to be seen, understood, and supported.
FIVE years of learning.
FIVE years of building.
FIVE years of doing the work.

And we are not just celebrating where we’ve been.
We are looking ahead to what still needs to change.

Because awareness is important.
But understanding, early identification, access, and action are what move children forward.

This month, we celebrate 5 years of A.D.E. and continue the work of making sure learning differently is recognized earlier, supported better, and understood more deeply.

Join us as we celebrate this milestone at Stories Served™: Lights, Camera, Literacy™ screening of Left Behind

Philly, I'll see you Saturday! 💙

To celebrate Dyslexia Awareness Month, I'll be at a screening of Left Behind, and I'm so excited to share what comes next. Have you seen the film yet? If not, this is the perfect chance.

Saturday is also about the next chapter for Left Behind: Imagine Reading, a nonprofit building a parent community to support ALL students with dyslexia. Are you a parent who's felt alone in this fight? This community is for you. 🔗 Link in bio

We have amazing speakers lined up, and Aden from the film will be there to share where he is today. What would you ask him if you had the chance? Come ready with your questions!

🗓 Saturday, October 3 at 12 PM

Bring a friend, bring your questions, and come be part of something bigger. 📚

Yesterday, we honored the women who refused to stop advocating.
Today, we make room for the men. 🧡

Stories Served™ will open with Hilderbrand Pelzer III, helping us set the stage for a conversation about what happens when we truly listen to the experiences behind the statistics.

Then we close with:

Three Generations. One Conversation.

Senator Anthony Williams. Brent Johnstone. Aden.

Three generations. Different journeys. Different perspectives. One conversation about dyslexia, literacy, identity, advocacy—and what needs to change for the generations coming behind them.

Because sometimes changing the story begins with making sure every generation gets to tell theirs.

Five years in, we know what we know. Now it has to become the norm. 🧡

Five-year-olds are entering kindergarten—learning letters, sounds, words, and beginning to discover themselves as learners.

And this is also a time when we can begin recognizing children who may be at risk for dyslexia.

Yet too often, families are still told:
“Just wait.”
“Give them a little more time.”
“They’ll catch up.”
Until everyone is frustrated.

Especially the child.

For five years, A.D.E. has been audaciously daring to do something different: recognize unique minds, equip families, amplify lived experience, and create spaces where learning differently is understood—not something children have to apologize for.

We have the framework.

Now it needs to become the norm.

This Dyslexia Awareness Month, join us for Stories Served™: Lights, Camera, Literacy™ as we watch FIVE mothers challenge the status quo and continue the conversation with 3 Generations - One Conversation!

Systems change doesn’t happen alone. It takes a village.

We’re grateful for the incredible organizations and leaders who make up the Upstream Education Village. Together, we’re creating a butterfly effect of opportunity, impact, and hope that reaches generations to come.

This past weekend, something powerful happened.

A D E - Audacity to Dare to Educate’s (@a_d_e_lab ) The Neurodivergent Immersion Experience brought together educators, families, youth, and community members to move beyond awareness… and into understanding.

We didn’t just talk about neurodivergence.
We experienced it.
We felt it.
We grew from it.

And none of this would have been possible without our incredible partners and sponsors:
💛 @read2succeedphilly
💙 Penn Medicine
📸 True North Living Company Liz Zulli
🧠 ABA Centers of Pennsylvania
🏦 Chase Bank

Those who helped make this day possible:
The office of State Senator Anthony Hardy Williams
Daniel Everett & Heather Holmes Everett
Bird Oliver-Kressler
Author Brent Johnstone
Dr. Salome Thomas-El
Ernie Bristow
Dr. Tracy Johnson
Stacey Jackson
Triple R Robinson

My AMAZING FAMILY!

And our partner, the @communityofcompassioncdc

Thank you for believing in this vision and helping us create a space where empathy, connection, and learning could thrive.

Because of you, we are one step closer to: Closing the Equity Gap in Special Education, One Unique Mind at a Time.

We didn’t just host an event…we built a Village.

💙 Today is World Autism Awareness Day.

But at A.D.E., we believe awareness is just the beginning.

Understanding requires experience.
Support requires intention.
And inclusion requires action.

We are honored to partner with ABA Centers of Pennsylvania to provide a Sensory Room at our upcoming Neurodivergent Immersion Experience — a space designed for regulation, safety, and care.

And through our Autism simulation, participants won’t just learn about autism…
They will experience it in a way that builds empathy and shifts perspective.
